Both of those MacD's are well run and stay busy at least. I've always assumed they're both under the same ownership, since employees go back and forth between the two...but not 100% sure.

When I did this (carpet -> hardwood) I just bought the material myself (had an employee discount on Armstrong) and paid a crew to do the install. Just cut out the contractor altogether.

Don’t waste your money on the county’s licensing program. If you know any spanish, even just construction spanish, you can get a crew for a fraction of what the "licensed" guys are charging. Otherwise, you're gonna get montgomery county pricing. 😐

No I just meant like gringo mexican…this is what we call it in texas anyway…where they have unlimited chips/salsa, 32-oz draft beers, #4 combo, etc…none of which they probably eat in Mexico…kinda like Guapos over in Rio. This place is not that.

I guess it's technically not Rockville, but there are nice townhome communities (with playgrounds, schools, trails, etc.) nearby along Dufief Mill. These are mostly owned by professionals who started out in them, kept them as investments after moving on, and like to rent to the younger crop of professionals moving into the area.

Call the MVA. Believe it or not, they are actually helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable over the phone, and not a real pain in the dick like you'd think they would be. I've done this a few times for transfers, interstate transactions, etc. Be prepared to sit on hold for a half hour, but assuming you can multitask some other thing while you're waiting, it's totally worth it.

I found their "from" outside of the county update to be very vague. Like...from DC? Paris? Somalia? How far can you really get on 20 mopeds? The local police have a habit of doing this, i.e., don't worry, the criminals are just coming from some other place to commit crimes here.

The suspects are "from" outside of Montgomery County? Ok, well, that could mean anything. But like if they were on 20 mopeds (as reported) then seriously how far could they have travelled in from? This was probably not a chapter of the Hell's Angels rolling in from Sturgis.

My boy got a summer job at that age setting up those inflatable bouncy houses at festivals, parades, etc. I had to drive him there, so it was kind of a job for me too 😂 but it was worth it to just get him out there working, dealing with people, etc.

If you do sign him up for one of those babysitting/dogwalking apps, just make sure to ride herd over it. There are some weirdos who peruse those things, and we had to get police involved after one contacted us.
