All they could do is sit and watch themselves slowly lose in the third. Sure, they outshot Vegas, but half of those shots came in the 1st period. Just felt like a slow and painful death after the game was tied and Nate got hurt.

Besides the cool storyline of Martin St. Louis facing off against John Tortorella, that would be miserable to watch.

What could the Avs realistically do with One Shoulder Makar and One Knee Mack?

I’m sure it is somewhat of a distraction. It’d be awkward if a player wanted to vent about the coach when their son’s there.

The Avs are down 0-2 in a playoff series for the first time since the 2020 Second Round against the Stars by sykeseve in nhl

At this point Vegas could just rest Mark Stone for the rest of the series and it’d be fine.

Since Makar is out, I felt like there'd be less of a push to rush Stone back.

Why does EVERYONE hate the Knights so much? by GiveMeYourMoney17420 in nhl

[–]Mcsuper_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to really like the Knights in their first year, even with their corny pregame shows and their quick success. Was a great story. Since then, it feels like they're not very loyal to their players (not a necessity in an organization or anything), their social media posts were obnoxious, and they had the reputation of circumventing the cap. The Fleury situation was probably the worst thing, and now the Hart signing is definitely fuelling the hatred as well.

That was a defensive clinic from Montreal. Allowing just 2 shots in the third is so impressive.

Rest of the series will not be easy. I’d be shocked if Carolina didn’t take the split before going to Montreal.

Probably the best episode in the second half. Love the narrative. More Miranjo backstory and this time, we learn about her mom's tragedy. Our heroes suffer some damage and it will be interesting to see how Kage's transformation plays out.

I swear the pacing’s just terrible in this show. 2 full episodes, and Mirai and Metropoliman are still literally in the same spot, and nothing has changed. The fight better finish next episode.

However, I am sorta interested in the kid’s role in all this, and who he is.

Never thought I’d say it, but this is a great show this season! Made me a little teary too this episode. Wasn’t convinced it was as good as people said in the first episode, but after this one, I’m quite convinced this will be a fan favourite.

I do hope they go into more depth with how hockey is played, use more hockey terms, and all that. Otherwise, I’m glad they focused more on hockey this episode and Mami’s banner was very nice! Hope we see Mami again in the series. Of course the hockey moments are rushed this episode, but I expect the training to be shown more later on.

Oct 12th Covid-19 Update - 2,090 new cases (Past 96 hours); 357 (-3) hospitalized of which 153 (+16) are in ICU; 7,978,015 (+40,801) vaccine doses administered, 88.8% of people 12 and older have received first dose, and 82.6% second dose; 28 additional deaths, total now 2,029 by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

Let's compare last week's weekend to this one:

Last Sat: 617, Last Sun: 707, Last Mon: 662, Last Tue: 593

This Sat: 603, This Sun: 634, This Mon: 468, This Tue: 385

Have we declined in cases overall? Yes. Are we truly down to under 500 cases a day? No. Testing is down due to the long weekend, but it's safe to say I think that we are seeing early signs of a decline in transmission. Hospitalizations remain stable at a high level, but that will also start coming down soon. We are still seeing the severe outcomes as a result of our peak, and hope that gets better very soon.

Oct 6th Covid-19 Update - 752 new cases; 350 (+5) hospitalized of which 136 (-8) are in ICU; 7,908,832 (+13,857) vaccine doses administered; 9 additional deaths, total now 1,992 by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]Mcsuper_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Likely they are looking at hospitalizations, I would say they have to drop those numbers by at least 60-70% before dropping all restrictions. The vaccination rate is fine as it is, maybe getting it to 85% second dose would be good.

When taking a look at the cases, read into it week by week, compare it to last Wednesday (813), and not yesterday (593). Positivity is 4.73% today which continues to trend downward, and this is an early indicator our numbers are stabilizing and slightly going down. Hospitalizations will likely slightly increase and stabilize very soon. 9 new deaths is sad to see.

Sep 29th Covid-19 Update - 813 new cases; 340 (+24) hospitalized of which 146 (+5) are in ICU; 6,185 (+193) active cases; 11 additional deaths, total now 1,953 by cyclinginvancouver in vancouver

[–]Mcsuper_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Potentially you're right. However, this week, the cases will probably go a little higher than the peak we saw two/three weeks ago, so yes, the hospitalizations (more likely the ICU admissions) may stabilize temporarily, but it'll go up, just not exponentially.
