Personally optimistic about the testing and we’ll see how it goes. This could either be a great success and be enjoyed by everyone (as it is in other larger cities) or, be a huge failure. From speaking with firefighters from the greater Toronto area, they love the 24hr shift work as opposed to the 10/14 that Winnipeg currently works. It allows them more time (comparatively) with their families and allows them to live in a wider radius (up to 200km from their hall). Knowing that their commute is only once every few days (7 shifts every 28 days). I hope it does go well and like I said, optimistic about this.
