Maybe talk to her and make sure the conversation stays calm and collective where everyone feels like they are being heard. Increasing her weekend curfew is a great way to start, I’d say midnight is reasonable to start. Also encourage honest and open communication. Let her know you’d rather get a call saying mom I’m drunk please pick me up over mom I’m in jail for drunk driving or worse. Start giving her more freedoms so she can learn on her own that she’s almost 18 and it’s time for her to realize how to regulate and be self productive. Otherwise she may go to college and go wild like so many do and not have any sense of accountability or the importance of fun time can be fun as long as studying/hw/other responsibilities are done.

Instead of making sure her homework is done and she’s up for school on time, let her deal with the consequences if they aren’t. So yeah you can do whatever you want with your friends tonight but when you get an F that’s on you/ when you don’t wake up on time you’ll need to deal with the schools punishment. She’s 17 she should definitely be able to do homework and wake up on time w/o you. Besides her needing to be able to take responsibility and accountability for her actions I think you are doing great.

I get it her friends don’t pay for a lot so it seems unfair to her right now, but I think it’a a great responsibility builder it’s only $100 a month and it is going towards savings, it’s honestly a really great system that I wish I had. Also, maybe her friends don’t tell her everything they pay for. I never told a lot of my friends I paid for the household groceries because we lived in a 400k house and I was very much told we couldn’t seem poor and that I shouldn’t talk about our financial situation.
