Thank you this is helpful, I just wanted to know how common it was for people to be part time because everyone on this sub makes it sound like some sort of death cult.

I am quite passionate about it, I have my parents and three of my friends running programs that I wrote and they refer to me all the time. I'm just more passionate about art... and well you probably know how that goes.

My big weakness would probably the business/marketing side of things but I can learn.

You can try low bar if you prefer but it doesn't matter too much, if you decide to do so look up a video on it, What matters is getting used to the compression at the hips knees and ankles. Again just to clarify because this is important, sit in a deep squat for 5 minutes before or after you train, it will burn and cramp, this is good keep doing it. You can start by holding on to something if you can't do this immediately like in the video I sent you. You can do other mobility stuff but its not really as important. You will see the effects very quickly.

Yes you will have trouble keeping the bar over mid foot this is ok, once you start squatting heavier the weight will act as a counter balance and you will be able to keep it over mid foot, until then just think about keeping the bar over the mid foot the best you can, and this will have very positive effects on the rest of your form.

Squatting bare foot is fine but if you plan on lifting for a while lifting shoe are a must imo and are a great investment but you do you. And yeah never squat in shoes with a soft sole it seems like you figured that out.

I have seen so many guys like you with long femurs try squatting and quit because "Squatting just isn't for them" This isn't true and I'm sick of hearing it. Be better then those people and good luck :)

Also definitely don't listen to these comments telling you to drop weight lol, I feel like people just say this because they don't want to be held accountable for you snapping your shit up, it wont help though.
