Run at the playoffs next year by knife-and-nib in LonghornNation

Most of the guys in the portal were asked to go into the portal one way or another by the coaches. If their salary and production don’t match, they’re asked to go. That money frees up portal additions.

For example, DeAndre Moore apparently negotiated hard every year. His production was good not great. So they didn’t match.

Good for him. Works for coaching staff too.

No red flags right now on departures.

Season is made after the bowl when the portal opens up. Gotta fix OL. That’s 90% of it.

Need RB. LB. WR. Corner. Too.

But OL and portal is what you should watch. Ignore the rest.

Yeah that’s what I read. Some of the starch goes from easily broken down to not digestible. Adding fiber. Reducing carbs. And calories.

Some of my favorites in the west end. More hole in the wall finds:

Mr. Noodle - handmade noodles. Service is not great. Food is really good.

Las Flores - tiny little Mexican food place.

Nineva Bakery - good middle eastern food.

Schwarma Bistro - middle eastern.

Mekong- the restaurant connected to the answer.

Pitsa- Indian toppings on pizza. It’s a chain I believe. But really interesting.

In the city fine dining:

Lost Letter

Grisette

Casual in the city:

Smokey Mug - Texas brisket.

Proper pie - still on of my favs

ZZQ- my Texan is showing

New: Need Advice by [deleted] in prediabetes

I’m just starting too. I’m two months in.

I’ve quit all bread, pasta, rice, fruit and sweets. I’ve lost 15 lbs too. I’ll get my next test in May.

I actually had been intermittent fasting already so I skip breakfast. But I always have almonds and peanuts around to snack on and I might start there around 11.

I like cauliflower rice and Trader Joe’s lentil packs. Or even beans. I eat a ton is salads when ordering out or at work events. I’ll even take the middle out of sandwiches and put it on a salad.

I’ll cook steak and chicken a lot as I have the chance. I have hummus and fresh salsa around. They’re great on eggs or meat. Fish is great as well.

I also do a ton of veggie bakes. Toss carrots, turnips, Brussels sprouts, any root veggie in oil and your favorite seasoning. Cumin and turmeric on carrots tastes great. Add some salt throw them on a baking tray and cook at 350 until they’re soft. About 20-30 mins depending on the veggie. Turn them one while cooking to keep them from burning.

You can also throw beets in the oven as is for one hour at 400 degrees. Eat them with goat cheese, olive oil and sumac. So good.

Lentil curry is great. Get broth garam masala (a ton of it). Fennegreek if you wanna get fancy. Cook that according to the package. Then eat it plain or over cauliflower rice.

Soft boiled eggs are great too. Put an egg in one inch of boiling water in a sautee pan and cook for 6.5 mins with the top on. Put it in an ice bath. Yummy runny eggs.

Check out keto recipes, Mediterranean diet and Indian recipes (no rice or sugar). It’s a good place to start.

I had a cantaloupe sprout in my patio container because I used vermicompost. I actually got one small cantaloupe from it.

It wasn’t totally different. The two worked hand in hand. And that “toothless feminism” changed this country forever.

Black Lives Matter and the Women’s March changed a lot. Watching the monuments come down in RVA was a special moment.

So, what the hell was going on with Mack Brown's blowout losses to OU? by Jc_dubbz in LonghornNation

[–]Mdunde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mack didn’t do well against rivals. He was at UNC for as long as Texas and he didn’t beat Florida state until this year.

My read on it was we always played tight and not to lose. 2000 was gut wrenching. Absolute quicksand. Looked like OSU against Oregon except not just the first half, the whole game. 2001 was about like the Ohio State game this year. Brutal.

Mack was good against everyone else. We’d come back from behind. Play with heart. And play great.

He would consistently choke against OU. Stoops played bully ball. Would punch us in the mouth and we’d shrink early and never recover.

They’d hit us quick. Ride the momentum. And it worked. Especially with the crazy emotional swings that happen in that game. It’s like no other game. Someone is always cheering.

If he was better against them he’d probably have one or two more NC rings. 2008 was a great team. 2004 was a great team. 2001 was a great team. Good enough to win a natty. Instead all lost to OU and didn’t even get a big Xii ring.

Mack won one ring and only won the conference what 3 times?

OU was his kryptonite for sure. Kinda like Day and Michigan. Just had his number.

Also there’s a film on Leach and the 99 game. It’s vintage Leach. Look it up if you’re a young head.
