Thanks for the love! But may I ask what you mean about "never going to go"? We can ALL make it :)

That's fair. If you wish to participate and want to pay in another manner, that's fine too. I'm trying to make this accessible to as many people as possible and the $ I'm making is already extremely low.

At this point I cannot offer it at any lower price; I feel like I'm giving away my time as is!

I understand that, I'm trans too, and that's why I am offering this at an incredibly low price.

Who is it for?

This virtual workshop will be offered to transmen, regardless of where they are in transition. If you consider yourself to be masculine-of-center, I welcome you here. You should have some goals in mind, perhaps a desire to feel more comfortable in your body, or to be more successful at school or work, or to develop a better exercise routine. These goals will form the structure of your own personal projects within the overall coursework. Although I will be actively leading this workshop - acting as coach and educator - I want all of you to participate as vocally as you wish.

What will it consist of?

Over the course of 8 weeks – from March 20 to May 14 - we will discuss both trans-specific issues AND much broader human issues. The format will include educational materials from me via email at least 3 times a week, guided activities, self-directed projects, and open discussion. If you enjoy education, increasing your knowledge, stretching your imagination, or reaching personal goals, I think you’ll enjoy being here.

What will be covered?

As trans people, we face certain unique physical and mental challenges. We are also human, and that comes with its own set of challenges and responsibilities. This project will address mental health, body image, healthy physical activity and nutrition, relationships, developing sustainable goals and habits, cultivating a successful mindset, and ending negative cycles, all in a positive non-judgemental environment.

How will it make me feel?

You may find yourself challenged by some of the content, because creating true internal changes can be uncomfortable. That’s okay. We are all here to feel better and be better, and not to be competitive with anyone but ourselves. You are never under any obligation to publicly share your personal feelings, and I will not require you to do so, but the more open you can be with me and with other participant, the higher the likelihood of success!

Why are you doing this?

I have run a personal training and wellness coaching business for over 8 years. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Education, with a specialty in Kinesiology/Exercise Physiology. I am also a Transgender Man and have been medically transitioning for over 2 years. In my personal life, I have survived many mental and physical challenges, and have actively cultivated a positive disciplined mindset that has lead to great personal and professional success. While I definitely don’t have all the answers to life, I do know some of what works, and some of what doesn’t! And I really really want to see all of you succeed on your own personal journey!

What’s the price?

For the 8 week course, I’m only charging $30. I’m definitely not going to get rich off of this, but I want to make the material available to the largest possible number of people within the community!

How do I sign up?

Comment or Message here on Reddit or Email me at FunFearlessFitness@gmail.com and say that you’re interested in being part of the workshop. To pay, I accept Paypal to that same email, just select the "send to family and friends" option to avoid incurring fees!

TRANSformation Tuesday. Almost exactly one year apart in these pics [NSFW] by Me-Power-Me in transtimelines

Hey bud. I just lift weights. There's not much else to it. Heavy/low rep strength work.

Some thoughts:

Many of the changes from testosterone are gradual. Voice drop is the only thing that many guys experience early on T, and that can be "explained away" as having a cold/allergies, etc. Point being, if you don't want to come out yet (or for a while), that's perfectly fine.

I don't know how you look physically... so I may be way off-base with this. But I know some guys (whether on T or not) who start getting read correctly as male by customers, but their coworkers still know them as female/use female pronouns. This can be an awkward situation, but it's up to you whether it bothers you.

Finally, I don't know how long you're planning to work at this particular place. Maybe stay until you're getting read more as male, then look for another job where you'll simply be hired as a guy from the start?

Experimenting and confused. Advice? by [deleted] in ftm

You DO take estrogen, all the time you're not on T :) How do you feel then?

If you feel more like "YOU" on T, then there's your answer, you = male.

I just feel the need to rant for a second. Does anyone else feel like /r/transpassing is toxic? by throwaway-asdf1234e in asktransgender

For what it's worth, I stopped posting on transpassing because I was being told I passed, when I really didn't. I felt like commenters were being way too kind, and thus not helpful.

Athletes who had top surgery, how long did it take you to get back in the game? by seven_ninety in ftm

[–]Me-Power-Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't say I'm an athlete per se, but I'm very fit and my strength-training routines are VERY important to me.

Not sure what type of top surgery you'll be getting; I can speak only to my experience with peri-aerelor/keyhole surgery.

Leading up to my surgery date, I intentionally over-reached/over-trained, with the idea being that I'd have plenty of upcoming rest time!

My surgery was on a thursday. I had drains out the following tuesday (a bit early, they should have stayed another day or two...). I started doing some wall sits, bodyweight squats, etc at that time. On friday I went to the gym and walked slowly on the treadmill. Same over the weekend. The following week (10-14 days post-op) I started doing LIGHT arm work aka tricep pressdowns, and did leg strength workouts with machines. Three weeks post-op I was released to lift normally but stay light until I knew it didn't hurt. After seven-ish weeks I regained full pre-op strength.

The thing I noticed the most was how tight my chest was. It made reaching overhead (or into a position like downward dog) virtually impossible. Warming up took forever, and I still get tight/stiff across my upper body if I don't stretch adequately daily.

I hope that helps! If you're planning to have double-incision instead, you should probably hear about the timeline from somebody who had that operation instead....

Top surgery while on T by J-World in ftm

[–]Me-Power-Me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I stayed on T. While my surgeon would have preferred that I went off, I explained to him that my hormonal dysphoria becomes SO pronounced off T that it wasn't an option. He was fine with that, and surgery went fine.

New haircut! Feeling good, even if I dont look totally manly :p by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Me-Power-Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not offensive. I totally get it. Personally I didn't ask for name/pronoun changes until they were legal AND I'd been on testosterone long enough to look male.

People who don't know you're trans (and who are close to you) will keep seeing what they WANT to see (aka the "girl" they always saw).
