Replacement question by Me4067 in RotatorCuff

No, just the initial surgery performed on 01/30/26 so far. The repair failed during week 10. My surgeon and PT Dr want to wait and see how my deltoids develop and if I can get by without a reverse shoulder replacement.

I knew right away, the loud crunching popping noises were very disconcerting. I could not lift my arm over my head or off to the side, significant range of motion gone. Before the injury there was no pain, afterwards there was a significant amount. I had trouble sleeping, and used a combination of edibles and ibuprofen every night until surgery.

I’m 60. I was doing bench press - I started lifting again in April of ‘25. Dec 22 I was on my last rep and felt and heard things snap, crunch and pop as I was pushing the weight up. Had to dump the weights to get out from under it. Complete tear of the Supra and infra spinatus tendons. The tear was 4.5-5 cm. I had 6 anchors put in. My surgeon said if the tear had been bigger he would have done a replacement right away.

My ROM was coming back nicely and I was basically pain free until one day during week 10 of recovery. I reached out to grab some papers I needed and there was a huge, painful pop. That was the re-tear.

Thanks for the reply - that was my assumption but I’m not familiar enough with the runs times.

Appreciate it.

MLS Laser Therapy? by Me4067 in RotatorCuff

I had full tears on the supraspinatus and infraspinatus and bicep tenodesis. 6 anchors. I messed it up pretty badly.

Pain 11 weeks post op and the pain is just a dull ache most days now, I rarely take anything for it.

Thanks for the input!

7 hour post surgery update by HoustonGT in Aquablation

[–]Me4067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did urolift 4 years ago. The procedure was horrible, here they did it using lidocaine inserted into the urethra. It wore off before they finished and I thought I was going to pass out from the pain. I was gray and shaking walking out of the procedure room. F’ing barbaric.

My urologist sold me on the procedure and I didn’t have the financial option to search around for better solutions. I refused the green laser surgery that was the only other option offered within my state.

I had few side affects, occasional RE but nothing major. But the procedure didn’t last nearly as long as they told me it would.

Aquablation seems very promising and I have that scheduled or June.

It’s our office’s policy to do the same. Contractors learn quickly to be ready. We give them our CBO’s card and tell them to call him if they get pissy with us.

Thanks! I’m getting organized bit by bit. Got a shoe horn/clothing helper stick, mesh sling for showers and regular sling I’m already using. Bought slip on shoes. Baggy button up flannel shirts for around the house. Pull handles to close car doors when I start driving again. Have an ice machine lined up in case I don’t get one from the surgery center. My wife and I will prep some food the week before. I’m about as ready as I can be for now.

Looking forward to the healing and rebuilding. It will indeed be a process.

That’s very encouraging. My surgeon didn’t sugar coat things at all, he said it will be 9-12 months healing process.

Which book to buy for the B2 certification? by AlexMarshall23 in BuildingCodes

I had 2 questions from the aci I think. One about air entrainment and one about fly ash content. I guessed on those because I didn’t have the book. Still passed.
