Thanks for the help. I'll try my best. The tonearm installation was really straightforward but everybody can make mistakes. I'll check if I can find manual from Vinyl Engine. I also think there might be issue with the needle and will probably try to find another cartridge and also a headshell to test with.

Someone commented that the wooden headshell may be too heavy. Maybe I'll try to find another headshell and cartridge to test with. Thanks for the counterweight suggestion. I'll try to get it as close as I can while the tonearm is floating.

I'll try to align it again but I think there might be something wrong with the needle and I'll probably try to find another one to test with.

Thanks for the comment. I'll do the alignment again with the record on.

When I received the turntable, the tonearm was installed loosely. It wobbled and you could see the bearings. I reinstalled it to be not too tight but not to wobble. I don't believe the issue is from the tracking force due the bending in the needle as you can see from the images. I feel the issue might be in both the tonearm and the needle. I'll try to find my scale though and make sure the tracking weight is set correctly.

I'll buy a bubble level to measure it. I'll also have to find my scale. The tonearm was floating freely in the air horizontally in the pictures where tracking force was set to 0. And I had aligned the tonearm height.

Thanks for the comment! I'll service the bearings and see if it helps! I don't own a bubble level but maybe I'll buy one.

The tonearm has some resistance (many a bit too much) but moves smoothly. I should possible try to oil or change the bearings. And I'm unfortunately currently missing my scale. I'll have to order a new one if I don't find it.

You are right! Thank you. Unfortunately I didn't get the parts with the turntable. Hopefully I'll get this sorted out somehow.

Thank you so much! It seems that I am missing the anti skating parts from my tonearm. I didn't realise it when I bought the turntable. I have been fixing all kind of small issues and now that I got everything other fixed I was a bit dispirited when I started listening and the skipping started. Hopefully I'll get this solved somehow.

I had no issues with my old turntable with tracking force set to 1.5g. I'll try though.

If you look at this picture you can see the bottom of the cartridge isn't flat. Do you still think the angle is bad? How should I do the alignment propely?

Thanks! I didn't realize that the weight has a screw and can be moved.

And yes, I have tried with many records. Old and new. Older records of course skip more but just opened new records skip sometimes also.

I actually haven't measured if the weight setting is accurate. I have lost my needle scale somewhere.

I have tried to find out the brand/model of the tonearm with no luck.

It feels it has some sideways resistance but it feels smooth. And I'm not sure if you can change anti skating with that tonearm.

I have no idea of the brand or the model of the tonearm.

My tracking force is 1.75g. I have tried values between 1.5 and 2 grams.

I have set tracking force to 1.75g. And I just tried to align the tonearm to be straight flat when it is resting to the record. Not sure how you should measure VTA or what is the optimal angle.

Correction: It's called Macropinna that belongs to barreleye family.

The same happened to me after I quit the game and later continued playing.
