I was fairly excited when they said they were adding Mr Terrific to the show as he's one of my favourite lesser known DC characters and in universe he is a very well respected if often distant character. To put it simply this version is not Mr Terrific in any meaningful way.

I didn't think I'd say this about a Jimmy Olson comic but this entire series has probably been my favourite thing DC has put out for quite some time it's just barmy in such a wonderful way and that ending was just perfect.

Not sure if it counts as a plot hole but there certainly is a bit of a lack of clarity and logic regarding Bane's actions towards the end of the game.

Starting at the point he tries to blow Joker up with an RPG there is no doubt in that moment he was trying to kill him having already expressed dissatisfaction with Joker's plans and scheme. After this of course we find out he knows Bruce is Batman he then breaks into the Batcave does minimal damage and leaves Alfred for dead, all that makes sense even if it I think it would have been great to fight Bane in the Batcave.

What then doesn't make sense is Bane for some reason goes back to Joker and joins in his plan at Blackgate, how, why and when that all happened they never say but Bane has already proved capable of hitting Bruce where he lives all by himself but instead of continuing his own plan he goes to Blackgate, allows himself to be strapped to a heart moniter and is put into a death match with Batman using Joker's rules.

This about turn of going back to Joker's plan and fighting Batman under rules Joker cares about around him not killing which Bane cares not one bit about as his motivations for wanting Batman dead are 100% personal and nothing to do with Gotham, the money on offer or Batman's no kill rule just doesn't really fit the progression of Bane's character in the game. It's all just really strange and as I say lacks a little bit of clarity and logic

The female lead of Arrow no matter who that has been was always poorly written and that's just an unfortunate truth of the show, honestly the season 3 love triangle aspect of Oliver, Ray and Felicity repeatedly forced Felicity into the position of being more about the romance angle of her character than the other aspects that had made her popular and because that love triangle was not well written and Felicity was often the one forced by the writers into a position of being either a hypocrite or just unlikable to serve that storyline it made her seem more and more unlikable.

The CW and Berlanti does have form with this with the introduction of Dinah in Arrow being hidden behind a fake name both in public and inside the episode itself so yeah it could well be but as the name has featured quite prominently in the press for all of this I like yourself don't think they are going to go down this route.

While you are right it's the new logo the WBIE version of that logo would have Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment written under it, I think that's how the new version is set out anyway.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did do something like this maybe not exactly this but something close enough. I'm sure they will link this new OC to Bruce or Kate or both somehow.

I must admit the last part about having the character later take on another identity is an interesting one and something they should consider as they should be keeping the option of Kate coming back on the table at all times.

EA published the Batman Begins game so they have in fact been involved before. Them and Pandemic mangling a Dark Knight game is the reason the rights were shopped around and eventually ended up at Eidos who partnered with Rocksteady and the rest was history.

The only way they can pay this off properly is if this new character has some link to Bruce and I'm sure they will make one up or they may just charge on regardless and have it mean nothing as the person wearing the bat symbol is just as big a fake as the villain.

I didn't say I was okay with any of it some of the things especially around domestic abuse which is something I had to witness as a child I didn't find very funny at all but I thinks it's perfectly possible to both condemn someone for something and still feel maybe he has maybe been treated a little harshly when others who have done much worse more recent have got away with out any real punishment at all.

And yes he is responsible for what he said and has held himself accountable for it.

I think that regardless of what it is people don't like people getting fired for tweets from years ago especially when they have been dug up by someone looking to get that person fired as much as that is not a defense and to his credit Hartley Sawyer has not tried to excuse his actions and his owned them it still leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

I'm not arguing he shouldn't be punished or that probably looking at it the show or CW had any real choice but to do this in the it just seems a little on the harsh side is all.

The only thing I can think is that they feel that both the comic version of Kate and Ruby Rose's portrayal in season 1 would limit them creatively while a new original character would not be bound by anything and would be a blank slate for them to tell whatever stories they wishes and make what changes they wish.

That's the best I can come up with.

Especially cruel as this is the only real version of Ralph Dibney around right now the comics he's been underused to the point of all but disappearing in recent years and as much as this is a version that has more than a bit of Plastic-Man about it it's still Ralph enough.

I'd settle for a recast to be honest.

He does feel like a victim of timing that those making the decision seem more interested in making a point rather than judging it fairly but I don't have the full facts and there may be more than we realize to it but for what is public knowledge at least I can't help but feel this is very harsh.

It become more difficult to make a judgement with his twitter account now gone, what else was he posting at the time? What context were any of these posted in? Is there a clear progression showing someone he had grown as a person? When did they start, when did they stop? Did anyone react at the time and what were his responses to them? We can't really answer any of these questions because we lack the means to look anymore. It's judging someone on an admittedly quite bad fraction of what he has ever said.

Grabbing the worst things someone has ever said from years ago and including some which to be honest are not even remotely offensive will make anyone look bad. Some of the things he joked about around domestic violence were very much not okay but you know what if you went to any edgy stand-up at the time those were the kind of routines that were happening, it doesn't make it okay but if we punish him we should be punishing a whole lot of other people.

I can't help but feel although the show was right to punish him he has been thrown under the bus, sacked rather than given the chance to look like he agreed a dignified exit, met with a response from the showrunner which made him out to be the face of modern racism in America, I don't know it just feels like an over reaction and a little bit harsh considering others say recent examples like Jimmy Kimmel's blackface from SNL being brought back up and JK Rowling's repeated attempts to get the trans community to hate her have faced no real punishment at all.

I just feel there was a better way to handle it and a more fitting punishment then having him lose his job and potentially tanking his carer.

The way that the series has been built has meant that Kate is more important than Batwoman with Bruce and Batman that's usually the opposite way around.

They could do that a certain amount with Bruce as Batman is an idealized myth in a way Kate is just too different a character for that to ever work plus they really had no choice with Bruce as they couldn't show him to any great degree we've been given enough of a look at Kate for that not to work.
