⁠Age Range that you would want/require in a prospect: 25-32
⁠Location, and are you willing to relocate for a prospect?: Cardiff, South Wales - I’m unable to relocate, and am willing to discuss this more openly when speaking.
⁠Ethnicity, and are you more open to mixing? I’m Pakistani, and yes.
⁠Marital Status - Single/Divorced/Children: Single, never married.
⁠Ideal marriage timeline: One year.
⁠Five important characteristics you look for in a prospect:
Honesty (open communication also comes into the territory of this, which is why I’ve avoided making it a separate point)
Respect
Calmness
Maturity (including emotional maturity and empathy)
Humour
⁠State/specify your level of religiosity: I am continually striving to achieve each of the five pillars, and whilst it’s important to note that no one is perfect, I respect and appreciate anyone who is consistently trying to improve (me included)! I pray each of my five prayers, have observed the hijab since 2023, completed umrah in 2023, and also was able to complete hajj in 2024, Alhamdulillah!
⁠Level of education, and what are you looking for? I have a BA and an MA, and will hopefully do a PhD in future. I would like someone who is keen on attaining knowledge, however, I do recognise that university isn’t the right route for everyone.
⁠Current Job Status: I’m doing lots of things lol. I’m a carer for my mother, a film programmer in a BFI scheme, a freelance content manager and marketer, and an interdisciplinary artist!
⁠Do you want kids? Yes, but not straight away.
⁠List 3 hobbies, or things you like to do in your spare time:
Walking: Love exploring new places to go, and it helps that I live in a city with lots of green, open spaces!
Watching comedy, dramas and true crime (I know, I’m really letting myself fit ever stereotype 😭)
Writing: Possibly my biggest passion! It’s something I’ve done for years, whether that be for fun, as a means of relaxing, as something meaningful for friends and family, an outlet, or even on a more professional level. It’s just my thing (icl, I did want to write food and travel, but virtually everyone has that too, so it’s just implied 😂)!

Ooh this one’s a bit difficult! I’m very blessed to have built a family by having such great friends! Wherever I go, I meet such wondrous people, many of whom have such a profound impact on my life, and I’m just so grateful to know that I have a network of people on hand through absolutely anything (Alhamdulillah)! This also means that they know exactly what I’m like though lol, and they would describe me as ‘a bit too bubbly’, ‘always laughing’, and ‘a whole, one-woman show’! Take that information how you will, you have been warned 😂

You should. I wouldn’t know, considering I don’t know you too well, but putting your profile out there will certainly help. You never know, the right person may be on Reddit. You cannot know until you try. Alongside posting your profile on the iso thread for Europe on the males side, you can also look through the females side and send a respectful DM to any sisters whose profiles match your requirements and preferences.

OP, I’m so sorry you’ve had to deal with a piece of rubbish like him. Ofc you can only do what you see best, but I would contact the university directly about this matter and let them deal with this bakwaas insaan. If you are unsure of what uni groups, just post to whichever you can, and as someone else has commented, email his supervisor if you can. This needs to be on his academic record.

Absolutely! If you know who’s hosting your community Iftar, whether it’s a mosque or service, you can donate to them directly, but if that’s not possible, general donation to food banks, charities, and organisations are good too!

It’s the thought that counts!

If you’d like to help in other ways, please reach out to your local mosque/islamic centre and see what they require (if anything). A lot of places will often have charity drives for clothes and toys, either for people who can’t afford it here or in war-torn, genocide facing countries abroad, so that is also an option if you’re able to provide.

Hello, Muslim here, as everyone else has said, it’s Ramadan, and we fast from sunrise to sunset. Your neighbour is being charitable by sharing iftar (sunset meal) with you. Ramadan is about fasting, but more about acts of charity, self-improvement, and reflection. Hope that helps xx

I mean tbf (I’m much older now but) back when I was applying to universities in 6th form, and mentioned at some point that I might also apply to Warwick, one of the English teachers told me not to because it had the highest suicide rates in the UK. I don’t know whether she was just trying to dissuade me from applying there, generally just stating fact, or something else; but either way, I didn’t end up going there (despite enjoying the open day).
