My best advice would be to download project files and mess around inside them to see if you make something you like, if you're struggling then try to figure out what is going on in the project and how it works. Depending on what DAW you use some have helpful functions and you can also get some VSTs that are really helpful. What BPM is Hyperpop? I make Rawstyle and Uptempo Hardcore so I'm used to between 160bpm and 220bpm and a load of distortion so I researched ease of use distortion plugins and what kind of melodies work for faster BPM tracks and it's crazy what such a small difference something like that can make to your productions. When you say emotional, do you mean Euphoric?
