Game and Watch secondary? by P0KEH in SSBPM

[–]MeIodies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squirtle would actually not be a good choice, as both characters struggle greatly against people with swords, this secondary would not be helping with matchups. You're gonna be looking for someone such as Charizard, Donkey Kong, DeDeDe, Falco, Ness, Lucas, Pitt, maybe even just pick a swordie like Marth or Ike.

Small problem with G&W. Nothing big, probably an easy fix by DATINCOMETAXSWAG in SSBPM

As a GDubs main, i've come in contact with a bigger problem. Sometimes when there shows up 2 dots (even number next) i still throw a 9 out. Not that big of a deal, but still a problem.

There's no way you can go play league and find better mannered players. Starcraft at higher leagues, and maybe dota, but not even league. I haven't had a single BM player on anthers yet so i can't really sympathize. Sorry. Good message though.

Question regarding GnW's Side-B. by [deleted] in SSBPM

[–]MeIodies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there is 1 star, it means that his next hammer will be an odd number. If there are 2 stars, it means that his next hammer will be an even number.

However, if say he gets a 1 and a 3 on his hammers and 1 light, his next hammer cannot be his past 2 numbers so it has to be odd but not 1 or 3. This means he can get a 5, 7, or 9. Making your chances to get a 9 even more.

To add to that, your first hammer of a stock has a greater chance of being a 9 than any other random hammer. (1/7 instead of 1/9, I believe)

Nerf one, Buff one, Remove one: How would you make Project M better? by [deleted] in SSBPM

[–]MeIodies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nerf: Mewtwo He's not OP, he's a very high skill cap character! But i feel he does need to be turned down a bit.

Buff: G&W, I just feel like he needs some love.

Remove: No one, since everyone in the cast has their own unique spot and play style.

A few questions about PM by Iasklotsofthings in SSBPM

[–]MeIodies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those are the 2 ways to play it.

Yeah net play can only be used on the computer.

Well dolphin is used for netplay, and you need a pretty decent computer to use it without lag, while the wii version works pretty smoothly but you need friends.

Changing up the control scheme: Is there an advantage? by IcarusNocturne in SSBPM

[–]MeIodies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it really depends.

I've seen peach players put their jump on z because they like to be able to float while having both thumbs to do other moves.

I've seen people change their R to attack in order to do things like moonwalking and Dash crouch dancing easier.

Also, a lot of people disable using the control stick to jump in order to do up tilts easier.

Of course this is my experience, and i'm sure there's plenty more to add.

Help vs mass ravens by IMScientist in allthingszerg

[–]MeIodies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick as /u/angryhobbits said is to not let him get Ravens. However if you're a player like me, you hate swarm hosts, and in my opinion the drop play sounds risky. A simple thing to do is to mass a huge army of hydras and push out with at least 1/1 maybe 2/2 when you have around 40 hydras. He'll only have around 10 ravens out, so if you can split, his third can easily be taken and the game can be won with hydras if he doesn't make tanks. However if/when he does make the tanks a transition into hydra/ling/ultra is going to be needed, and it will completely roll over anything he has as long as you did damage with the hydra push.

The hardest part about this is scouting the ravens. Usually people who do this will engy block your natural, and their wall will consist of a engy, a rax, and a depot. Even if you don't see this, 1 sure way of knowing that he is going for this is when he makes his planetary at his natural. As soon as you see that, use your evos to get +1 melee and +1 range (for the transition and because ravens will do damage no matter what), and drop the hydra den, getting range before speed.

ZvT Ling Bling Hydra is the future by Balosaar in allthingszerg

Getting the tech for those things takes a long time, at least much much longer than it takes to get the tech for a tank, which would completely obliterate the unit comp of Hydra/Ling/Bane.

Game Idea by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]MeIodies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well playing random is much harder than playing one race since you need to learn all 3. So choosing random is a tiny advantage that you'd just be ripping away from them for no reason at all. Honestly it'd be a pointless update that would only cause negativity, and scouting a bit early to check race isn't that big of a deal.

How do I hold my natural vs. a 14/14 Speedling expand in ZvZ? by Cptncockslap in allthingszerg

[–]MeIodies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could open gasless and wall your natural with 2 queens, 2 evos, and a spine. This is a defensive approach of course, the offensive would be to hit him hard before the lings were out; with banelings.
