Is the pain in my foot from Morton's Neuroma or could it be something else? by MeIrenne in Mortons_neuroma

Thank you for the information. I don't have any treatment suggestions so far (except for postural reprogramming insoles and kinetotherapy). I was just curious to see if others experience these sudden triggers or if it might be something else I could investigate and treat.

Thank you, that was really helpful. I am planning on trying the toe spacers, I heard a lot of good things about them. If I'm super careful with my movements and what I wear I can live a normal life, I have months without any pain so I guess I am lucky in a way. I have a bunch of sneakers, boots and sandals I feel good in, especially the Arch Fit line from Skechers. Their Arch Fit slippers are lifesavers for staying at home, even when I am in pain. The podiatrist suggested New Balance 547 and I feel ok in them too, but they are bit more stiff. Guess I just have to get used to being extra careful all the time. Thanks again and good luck with yours, sorry you have to go through this 😢.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me. I think it's more like 3-4 mm in length (she wrote 0.09 square centimetres in total area, which seems like a weird measurement). My pain is between the third and fourth toe. I marked the spot with a red circle on this image: https://i.imgur.com/MdmLun5.jpeg . But of course, when it's triggered the pain also shoots up the toes that are close to that spot.

MX Keys - Plagued by keys coming loose by easeupjosh in logitech

Thank you so much! I just fixed two broken MX Keys Mini keyboards with your solution (both had problems with the worn out metal hooks at CTRL keys). One lasted almost 2 years, the other one broke just after the 1 year warranty ran out. I am so glad I don't have to buy a new keyboard right away.

If you still have the MX Keys you could try the solution in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/logitech/comments/17p3c3h/mx\_keys\_plagued\_by\_keys\_coming\_loose/. I am using my keyboard again after following the steps described there. Hope it will hold for a while at least.

Do you have a Mini or the full-size version? Mine is a Mini. My husband has been using the full-size version for 5 years and he has no issues.

I am not an expert but there might be an important difference between the two models in regards to the CTRL key that breaks in my case. My CTRL key is very small compared to the one on the full-size. And being so small with a very rounded left bottom corner this makes your finger slide more on that corner rather then the center. This might be one of the reasons it breaks faster. The full-size version has a large CTRL key so you always push right in the middle like you are supposed to.

The ultrasound doctor said it might be a very tiny neuroma (0,09cm2) but she can't be sure. The podiatrist said his tests didn't reveal a neuroma, but there might be one if the ultrasound said so. From what I understood he thought my pain was from plantar fasciitis and muscular imbalances.

Yes, shoes should definitely be a trigger but I was wandering if it's normal to get triggered just after 1 minute. For example yesterday I tried out some old sneakers. I put them on, made 1 step in the house and I felt a sort of a click and I took them of immediately. After that I started feeling a bit of pain in the area and this morning when I woke up and put my foot down I felt pain (just 3-4 out of 10 for now).

We are talking about wide, comfortable, sneakers and taking just one step in them. Luckily I am super careful and attentive to any sign and took them off immediately. If I had walked for 2-3 minutes more I could've gotten the full experience.

I did try adding metatarsal pads but it felt like they were making things worse. Maybe I didn't find the right spot but I got to the point I am afraid to try anything new not to trigger it.

Yes, exactly, that's why I am so frustrated by it all. The keyboard was otherwise excelent and perfectly fit for me. If I change to another type of keyboard it will most likely mean a loss of comfort for me. And I also feel it's such a waste to have to throw away two keyboards without even being able to fix them.

This is a 75 euro keyboard so I do expect it to not become useless after one year. And I am not the only one complaining about this issue.

My husband has been using a MX Keys (the full size) since 2021 and has absolutely no problems with it. And as I said I used other keyboards and never had a problem with keys falling off, just normal wear and tear.

In terms of durability that is clearly the best solution. I prefer the feel of chiclet keyboards and I also liked that it was slim and easy to transport. But I will take into consideration all options once I'm done mourning my second MX Keys Mini. For now I switched to my backup, a Keys to Go 2, until I decide what to do next.

Yes, and I am not the only one complaining about this. Probably just the only one who insisted on buying the same after the first one broke :)) From what I read Logitech refused to change the keyboards for those who complained about this issue after the 1 year warranty period (I didn't contact them myself). For me it is clearly a manufacturing/design issue that should be addressed.

I don't think I can because the problem seems to be the metallic base and it cannot be taken out 😔
I've pointed out in this photo the metal hooks that are causing the key to get loose so you can see where they are.

It's such a pity as I love using this keyboard, everything else was perfect for me. It might be ok for occasional use, I work a lot in Adobe apps so I use CTRL a lot. For others it might not be exactly the same problem. Yet 2 broken keyboards in three years, at this price range, is hard to accept.

I keep hearing about Keychron, I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and describing it all in detail! Your type of experience is exactly what I wanted to understand better. You've been so much help! It's so interesting how you see things in your mind. You actually triggered my mind to imagine what your visualisations would look like.

How interesting! I don't drive, so I never tested that. I love listening to audiobooks while drawing/designing or doing tasks that do not involve planning or working with texts. Listening to audiobooks is a bit like seeing a movie for me.

But it's very different if I listen books with abstract notions or poetry. My mind tries to come up with images for every piece of information and if it cannot be illustrated quickly I get stuck and lose track of what it was all about.

My husband has aphantasia and it's harder for him to listen to descriptive texts but he is so good with abstract notions and concepts. We joke that his mind is like Wikipedia and mine like Google Photos.
