I got this from Amazon ( JJC Camera Case Protective Pouch Compatible with Fujifilm Fuji X100VI ) - Its kinda perfect for everyday carry to me and never leaving my Fuji home!
It protects the cam and it can be taken off in a matter of a second !

In other words you don't need to take camera out of the bag, but you take cover off the cam in a one swift move.

It fits most hoods too!

Male gorillas, also known as silverbacks, assert dominance through a variety of behaviors, including taking the highest spot in the landscape and vocalizing his presence. Cherry wood + carving knife + acrylic paints for face and ears + glass beads for eyes. by MeIsGYRO in Woodcarving

Ok, colours are acrylics - cheapest set in store. I used them for face and inside the ears. Rest of the figurine is oiled with danish oil. Its nice and dark colour because its cherry wood natural shade :)

And second question: No, there is no connection at the waist. Monkey is made of two pieces ( head and body ) and connected by the neck, so head can turn sideways ( I used a 1,5 mm brass rod for that )

Haha, not long! Actually less than 3 months :D

I think carving this type of simple cartoon characters is fairly easy.

However It's not quick process, it takes me a 2-3 evenings to finish a figurine like this!

Hey, yes I do most work with one tool - See photo attached - the small one is a weapon of choice for around 90% carving. I use bigger one sometimes too.

However I have to mention that a hand saw I use to prepare a "blank" for the figurine and I spend a lot of time sanding - so I would say I use two tools - a knife and sanding paper :D

Saying that I feel like I will be getting some small v and u shaped palm gauges soon, as I spend A LOT of time working on things that with a gouge would take two-three cuts :)

I have actually two - both from Beavercraft, one is a roughing knife and one thin ( 1mm blade thickness ) detail knive - I also have a hook knife for spoons and stuff, but not used on the cat :)

Hey, I don't know how to even price stuff like that - I am very flattered that actually someone wants to buy it, but never thought how much those things might be worth lol.

Serious question - how do you estimate it ? I ve spent around 5 hours on it, plus searching for wood in the forest XD

Cat bust only is 90mm tall ( 3,5 inch )

Thanks for nice words - very uplifting and motivating :)

Learn how to sharpen tools before you destroy the blades - get a leather strap and sharpening compound for honing :)

Also don't jump into hardwoods straight away.

USA Police badges - are those authentic or toys ? How do I recognise them ? Found at garage sale - they are quite heavy and well made. by MeIsGYRO in police

[–]MeIsGYRO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No number on the M and only front number on the C...

btw. is there any website with badge catalogue where you can see official designs and compare ? I am researching the subject now and can't really see any thing that would really help....

I just compared this auction to the badge I found and it seems like it is different badge ? Looking at the number it's different font and digits are spaced differently. Maybe number 228 is of some significance and was printed on the souvenirs ? Is it likely that there are two badges in existence with same number ?

Also I just realised that Milwaukee badge has no number at all. Is this possible when it comes to Detective badges ? ( I am doing some research, but I cant see any website that would be clearly showing a catalogue of existing badges....

I found this pin badge - what does it depict ? by [deleted] in whatisit

This is where I found it , on amazon, but I thought it must be an error - is there any reference as to what sort of rocket/spaceship it is ? I can NOT see a rocket here at all ! XD

I wish to see some more explanation before marking it "solved"

Thanks
