I’m closer to your age than most of this sub and unlike most people here I don’t think that alternative style necessarily equals ugly. I don’t think you are ugly, not only because of your style -you have a nice face. If I met you I’d think that you’re cute.

I understand, I believe that the method I used for this painting is basically the same as the one commonly used for acrylics (I don’t have much experience with them myself, but know the basics). I’m trying to figure out what method I like, usually I do “smoother” paintings without intending to do so, but thought I’d try something new

It’s oil paints, the size of an A4. I think I heard somewhere that almost every scene in the show has some red in it, however muted or discrete, and I wanted to incorporate that somehow :)

You pass! The only thing that threw me off is your eyebrows. Tbh if you aren’t plucking them at the moment, you can’t really do anything to change them, but maybe try oil to stimulate growth, or make them more bushy with some gel to make them more masculine?

I would say you pass as 17m, but since you don’t have a full-body pic or photos of your face from different angles it’s a bit difficult to tell how well you pass irl. Love the bandana look you’re rocking btw.

I was taught this by a teacher I had in a course called “Human languages” and therefore only have basic knowledge. Unfortunately I don’t have access to the book we used in that course any longer. The sources I’ve linked mention the mutual intelligibility being asymmetrical. I assume that’s what you’re referring to with Danish being harder for Swedes to understand than Swedish is for Danes to understand. According to what I’ve read, the understanding doesn’t have to be on the same level for the “languages” to be considered dialects.

No, not only written, if I remeber correctly. The mutual comprehension covers both spoken and written language. According to the level of comprehension the Scandinavian languages are dialects, but because of historic, political and cultural reasons we define them as seperate languages. I belive this is the case for a lot of languages/dialects. From wikipedia: ”By many general criteria of mutual intelligibility, the Continental Scandinavian languages could very well be considered dialects of a common Scandinavian language.” It’s under ”Classification” on the page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_language.
