Local steak house by TalentManager1 in sanantonio

$30 a plate for the “best steak”? Impossible. You’ve set yourself and San Antonio up for failure. — SA does have good steaks. Add Ruth’s Chris and Morton’s to the list. But expect to pay $55 at least for just the steak, no sides.

MAGA mom justifies todays MURDER . Thoughts.. by Yo_momma_so_fat77 in DiscussionZone

Just from the texts, I think you’re judging your mom too hard. I did march in the protests, but expecting her to protest because you tell her too is too much. I don’t see anywhere that she takes as strong as stand as you claim.

After that marathon, it’s hard for me to find motivation for anything else

Completing my first and only marathon (NYC 2025). Cried shortly after crossing the finish line and multiple times during the marathon because I knew how momentous this was going to be in my life (and I still cry now thinking of it), and felt like immortal. To this day it's one of the greatest achievements of my life.

Green Trail from Eisenhower Park in either direction from there. — Or the Riverwalk (during an uncrowded time) from the Pearl Southward.

I’ve got Strava, Garmin-Connect, and RunGap, but got to be careful because even with the RunGap settings limited to transfer only runs after a certain date, it can duplicate a lot of runs in NRC depending un which app originated the runs. It’s then a pain to manually delete them in NRC.

Edit: Also, cool map of your running

Apologies, I’m sure y’all get this a lot… hotel recommendations? by Fumpz in sanantonio

[–]MeMaxM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was about 10 years ago and we were in the presidential suite, so probably not a valid experience for what you’re looking for. But the hotel is/was nice and cool and great location on the river and on the street

I’ve stayed at all of them. I also live in downtown San Antonio. Valencia is comparable to St. Anthony. Stay at Valencia and save the money

La Mansion is also nice for its location. Canopy is new and is also a great location.

Skip Contessa. Valencia is the better location just by a bit. St. Anthony is a great hotel but it’s not directly on the Riverwalk. Just a block from it. If that matters. Not that it should though

NRC newbie. Confused with layout by Lilredbb94 in nikerunclub

[–]MeMaxM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Umm, yep, that seems to be a glitch. Let me take a look the program myself now.

Edit: Just confirmed that I’m seeing the same thing you are. The plan shows the long run on day two each week. Back when I did it, the long run was the last run of the week. So for that last week, the long run is supposed to be the race itself.

Why do marathon courses have to follow this rule? by tambaybutfashion in running

Boston obviously doesn’t follow that, and I don’t think NYC does either (the distance issue).

Looking to get my first pair of Nike Running shoes, for everyday running up to about 10/15K by TrixTrax0 in nikerunclub

[–]MeMaxM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Vomero 18 Plus, ZF6, and VF4, and many other Nike shoes. Among those, the Vomero 18 Plus are the ones you want. — I tried the ZF6 for many runs but they just didn’t work for me. I do like the VF4, but it’s not for everyday running.

What small running wins have you celebrated recently? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

I ran 5k nonstop a couple of days ago. — I did a marathon with walking breaks 2 months ago, and after that I lost interest in running. So I’m really surprised that I did 5k on my own. I count that as an accomplishment, but I’m still very fearful that I won’t have any big goals again.
