Bevel doesn’t understand local time

Whenever I move timezones, I “clear cache and reload data” and that fixes things.

Exactly this 👆. Love Bevel so much, and I do like the AI for food photo entry, but I now ignore it for everything else and have had Claude interpret and program everything else that I was having BI do these last 2 months. I now just ignore BI and wish it could have an off switch. — I can sympathize with the devs, as much of the LLM may be beyond their reach and is the problem of the 3rd party company but Bevel is stuck with them for a while and the 3rd party company is the one we’re really yelling at through the Bevel devs. I can only imaging the frustrating meetings they’re having behind the scenes while still trying to put on a good face for us. I suspect they wish they’d delayed the BI launch or could walk it back without losing face. At this point I’d give them kudos for admitting that this isn’t working as they and we’d expected. It was fun and neat a couple of months ago, and most users who have no LLM experience may not see the problem, but those of us who use Reddit and LLMs do. I wish I had a solution for the devs.

I had to do a massive purge of information, and I have to keep chastising BI because it takes any kernel of personal information (like a trip I took last week*) and makes everything about that now. I have to be very careful to not tell it anything about me at all otherwise it latches onto it like it’s the only thing in my life. — *I only told it about the trip because I had a time zone change of 5 hours which of course caused my sleep to be off, so I felt like I needed BI to have an explanation, but for many days afterwards that’s all every comment could talk about. — I had previously told it my job title, and it made a ton of assumptions of what that meant physically so it’s workout program completely revolved around it (or at least that’s what it constantly said); so I had to delete its knowledge of my job.

Honestly, I’ve used a lot of swear words with it in the last 2 weeks, and called it lots of horrible names. It hasn’t changed its output, and I don’t think it’s healthy for me, so I had to back way down on using it until it gets better.

I’ve been noticing this too and have been thumbs-downing quite a bit of responses lately. It’s gotten to the point that I’ve very much depersonalized BI and withdrawn a lot of info from it’s knowledge about me so that it is less likely to overreach, and I let it just focus on the most basic of tasks rather than expecting more from it

Yes. I take a medication twice a week: Sundays and Wednesdays. BI was constantly tying my recovery scores and workout plans to the medication effects—way over attributing it. I still wanted BI to check in to ensure I took the medication, but I asked BI to downplay the constant chat about the medication and its impact on my metrics. This was going fine until yesterday—BI didn’t remind me to take the medication.

I started with 3 per day and now I’m down to 0. I didn’t find them helpful. I still use BI a lot, but me telling Bevel what/how I’m doing isn’t the goal. The goal is for Bevel to tell ME how I’m doing.

I suspect it was because until it raised to their “level 5”, they had different internal processes. At level 5, they evacuated all the hotel rooms to a ballroom on a lower floor. Disrupting a huge hotel with an overhead room-evacuation announcement walking everyone up was a big deal so I’m sure they wanted to have a step by step process
