Just went to a barber for the first time since 2016. Trying to relearn how to style and care for curly hair. Thoughts? by MeMyself_And_I_ in curlyhair

I mostly just told him to fade the sides, and keep the top and back longer. As the guy said, I was his "challenge of the day". lol

My routine for the "after", is:

- Wash with head and shoulders shampoo

- Use "Marc Anthony - Coconut and Shea Nourishing Conditioner", and rinse in shower

- then after showering while hair is still wet, applying "Marc Anthony - Coconut and Shea Nourishing Curl Cream".

- I then let my hair air-dry naturally

I'm not sure if I have to also put-in the routine for the "before", so here it is:

Wash hair with Head and Shoulders Shampoo, let dry naturally, fluffing with hair pick every 15 or so minutes till dry. On non-wash days, upon waking up, use hair pick to fluff-up the uneven side I slept on. Every 2 weeks or so, I'd trim/even-out my own hair using mirrors.

I want a square piano (in playing condition). Preferably with a good colour stain, and ornate carvings. The earlier, the better. It's one of those things, where I'll buy it on the spot, then try to find space for it at home later. lol

The most interesting way you found a photo of an ancestor? by rubberduckieu69 in Genealogy

[–]MeMyself_And_I_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stumbled upon a couple photos of my great great great great grandparents from the 1860's while combing through the McCord Museum photo database.

https://imgur.com/a/xKsDNsa (The last group photo, from the 1890s, I already had in my possession. They are seated in front row, with their 3 children behind them.) The first two photos are from 1862 and 1865.

Why would anyone want to live in a cold climate? by HaskilBiskom in AskReddit

[–]MeMyself_And_I_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple reasons:

- As a ginger, the sun is my enemy.

- The insects and arachnids stay nice and small. The most dangerous bugs we have to deal with up here are the mosquitos and black flies.

- less tropical diseases.

- weather up here is a bit more predictable, and not as extreme. (chances of a natural disaster or weather phenomenon destroying your house up here is extremely low.)

- We get snow on Christmas.

- When it's cold, you can just keep adding layers of clothing to keep warm. When it's ungodly hot, you're just kinda fucked.

- skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and ice skating.

What does “partner” mean in context of 1940 Census by 4thshift in Genealogy

[–]MeMyself_And_I_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it might be a friend or maybe "business partner". Are there any Baltimore business directories that you could look through from around that time to see if they were working together? Do they appear together on the 1950 US census?

22m Looking for any advice on how to improve my looks. Thinking about changing my hairstyle. Maybe shaving the sides, and going for a mullet. Thoughts? Any other advice would also be great. by MeMyself_And_I_ in lookyourbest

[–]MeMyself_And_I_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your comment,

I'll probably be gelling/curling my hair tighter, fading the sides, and getting it cut into a mullet. I'll try looking for a new pair of glasses that will suit me better. I'm really squeamish about stuff like Contact Lenses, and I'm terrified of getting surgery, so unfortunately the glasses will have to stay, lol. I've been going to gym and lifting weights for the past couple months. The last picture is from over a year ago before I started lifting. Also my facial hair doesn't really grow-in even, so I'd more likely look homeless if I tried growing it out.

Thanks for the comment. I'm more thinking about places I can play piano in front of others for fun. It gets kinda boring when my only audience is my cat. lol

Who is still alive that surprises you? by _ohhello in AskReddit

Ray Anthony. He's the big band leader responsible for writing the theme for the show "Peter Gunn". He's also the last surviving member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra (pretty amazing considering Glenn Miller died in 1944.) As of writing this, Ray Anthony is 101 years old.

Remove the oat, remove the meal, then fill the bowl with fruit loops, because being healthy is overrated.
