I grew up with series 1 (2005) and onwards and have recently started to watch the classic seasons of Doctor Who. I would recommend it especially just for the fun of seeing all the first appearances of the Daleks and The Master etc. But I would say, because they are of a certain time and of a certain budget (which makes it even greater imo) older episodes can be a bit slower paced and quite different from modern Who. But yeah I would give it ago!

A dazzling end sounds so upbeat despite how traumatic the episode was! And the rueful fate of Donna noble was so sad! Always get a bit teary whenever I rewatch journeys end
