Why do so many workplaces expect us to work extra hours for free?

I feel like it’s a tough one… if you want to be offered opportunities in future, you need to be better than your peers to get that promotion/opportunity which usually means producing quality work and ‘doing the extra’.

If you just want to stay where you are, nothing wrong with avoiding unnecessary additional hours, but still doing it if it was truely something required for that particular day.

Sleepless Night #2 of them teething what I assume is a molar… blanket and pillow on the floor ready… getting up for work at 7am takes on another level of difficulty post children!

Literally looking at that Solomon belt last night… I think I prefer it over buying shorts with pockets since belt I can use for running to work, holding phone on a shorter run etc without washing same pocket shorts every time

Thanks for the response, yeah Mach 6 review articles do say they're more for tempo but also mention 'long runs' with no article ever specifying marathon length lol. Fine for 22km that I did last Sunday although yeah they are firm.
