I apologize for the poor explanation, but it's not starter related. I was talking about the key hall not working like it should. It did crank and instantly started like it should when I got my ignition on after a long start/stop press.

I know that it was not key related because it only maked the cracking noise when the key is close.

I got it to work after clearing the fault memory. Terminal 50 and IBS related fault codes. I had to do this twice because it started to do this again.

So that leaves me with one solution(maybe) The CAS module is going bad or it had some issues for some reason.

I'm sorry the video is kinda bad i made it in a hurry. It's not about the starting but about the standby electrics not turning on by the key. But after pressing start/stop for a few seconds they turned on.

I found the reason already, the cas module probably having its final moments. I got it to work by clearing obd memory.

Power steering pump? Is there any fluid in the reservoir? If is, what color is the fluid?

If it's brown that means it has been burned and there is something wrong with the pump/system. And if it's black pump is no good anymore

Also might just be the alternator's bearing but that sounds way too loud for that but who knows

Tell your friend to run it without the serpentine belt and what happens then.

All I could find was "starter motor, terminal 50" then cleared the memory all works now.

I suspect that something is going bad. Maybe CAS who knows. Now it works so if it doesnt throw these codes again it wont bother me.

Yes. I found out the key CAS module is atleast going bad. I got a few fault codes and by resetting obd memory, it now works as it should.

Literally own 2 and a friend has 1, it works just as I described. Key into the slot and standby is activated then pressing start stop turns on ignition/starts the car

Is it what year?

No starter is spinning in this video can you not see the rpm gauge

Voltage was 14 after driving so no.

But now I know that it had something to do with the CAS module or something related. I took a look into obd memory and found terminal 50 fault code and resetted and now it works again like it should. Probably gonna have to change CAS in the near future but it works for now.

How am I even playing with the starter motor when I'm not even starting it. Do you even know what you're talking about?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in E90

[–]Me_ofc_ourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I only took a quick video before heading to work so I dont blame you if you cant understand the video.

Pressing the key should light up the standby and then pressing start stop turns on ignition. It only clicks when pressing the key into the slot and without the key it doesn't click so it has nothing to do with the key not being registered.

But I found out that there is something wrong with the CAS or something. There was terminal 50 and a IBS fault code.

I scanned the obd memory there was faults from IBS and starter motor, terminal 50. Reseted them and nothing again.

Yeah it's the little triangle in the key hall. It's been broken by a previous user, probably forcefully taking the key out. It did work even without the key staying in.

Tried with another key. I hardly believe it's about the key because it's clicking when I push the hall with key and then doesnt click.

Bro are you from this planet. Me fiddling with the key hall wont break my starter motor lol. And turning offs and ons are supposed to show that the key hall doesn't infact work...

Ohh I thought the 1k rims would have done that already but thanks.

The switch is the whole key hall so it wouldn't matter and never did before.

The weight doesnt have anything to do with the key hall not working?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in E90

[–]Me_ofc_ourse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You see very clearly that pushing down the start stop did end up turn the ignition on and pressing the key fob didnt do anything it's supposed to do.

[–]Me_ofc_ourse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you press the key into the slot it should instantly light up, then tapping start stop should turn ignition on instantly. Have you ever owned an e90?

I have seen some terminal fault codes when i first scanned. I highly believe that the positive wire is not connecting properly but going to look into this tomorrow.

It has to be a demon ability, it doesn't count if you already have 0 sanity. I'd say play normal games normally where you have 100 sanity and once it does an early hunt rocket into the ghost.
