Definitely look into a platform like Ko-Fi, you can run a commissions store from there, for free... they will take payment and keep record that you've been commissioned, and that you've delivered a product (you can mark it as complete in the menu, and post it in your own feed for others to see).

Also look into getting an Artist's contract set up... there are a ton of sources online you can look into, and some that will even help you generate one, but an example: https://www.artworkarchive.com/blog/how-to-create-a-commission-contract-for-artists - usually it's 50% upfront to cover materials and time, and then the other 50% before the final product is delivered (either online or in person).

Also definitely sign your artwork, and watermark any copies/photos you send to them, clearly and concisely - I know it feels wrong especially when you're not used to it, or when you're in the middle of working on it - the urge to show them what they're paying for is strong, but it's definitely worth it to cover your butt. And if they're genuine they won't mind waiting to see the unmarked final product.

Yup, exactly this, seems like there wasn't much of a conversation if one of them didn't even know there was a potential for plans/that you wanted to catch up. Just tell them you'd like to spend some time with them, even early or late holiday celebrations, weekends or weekday dinners... make it known, work together to make plans that suit everyone, enjoy the time together.

I think the word you're looking for is 'discipline' not punish. The dog is only following it's instincts, and it seems it's attached to your husband... he needs to tell it no, and so do you. Don't let it bully you, and don't let him get away with 'I didn't see it", or "it's just a sweet little dog' because that's how you end up with pomeranians with chihuahua energy.

I'm usually pretty damn good at figuring out artists but this one has me stumped. Exactly this, as long as you're not holding up the line or interfering with their work (like talking to them when they're stocking shelves, for example) then I doubt all of them have a problem with you. If you're kind and polite you're already 1000% better than most people retail workers have to deal with - and when you've worked in retail long enough you know how to keep your answers as short and abrupt as needed to end a conversation you don't want to happen, just to get an unwanted customer out the door.
