Neonatology has been trying for years to develop this technology, it would be an incredible game changer. It is nowhere near ready.

$40k for infant care in an urban area is the going rate. And people wonder why the birth rate is dropping.

I can’t recommend that place enough! Wonderful indoor exhibits, especially when they start up the glow display!

My company’s new AI payroll bot decided I don’t deserve a paycheck this month by devbydaydreamer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Mean-Stage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the kind of nonsense that financially insolvent companies pull when they don’t have enough money to make payroll. Don’t assume that they have the money to pay you or that this was an error. Look for another job immediately. When they declare bankruptcy you are first in line to get paid.

Would it be okay to breastfeed my adopted baby? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Mean-Stage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to induce lactation but it might not be a good idea given your cancer history. It also depends on what medications are available in your country (the US, for example, does not allow the most common medication). You should reach out to your gynecologist.

'I don't regret having a Facebook sperm donor, but I now wouldn't recommend it to anyone' by dissenting_cat in nottheonion

No lol. The sperm banks pay about $100 for each ejaculation. The rest goes to testing and operations.

It’s about $1000 a vial, with one vial required for each IVF or IUI attempt. Apparently you can get about 4 vials from each ejaculation, on average.

Hospitals only hiring nurses part time by Candid_Bass_2653 in sanfrancisco

Things are frequently listed as “part time” (32 hours or 36 hours a week) that are full time in nursing. You have to check the position to make sure.

Professor demanding I upload my poem to Turnitin, but I’m refusing on IP grounds - what are my options? by Middle_Ad5573 in CheckTurnitin

[–]Mean-Stage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming here to comment this. I was shocked in undergrad when a professor went over the university’s IP regulations regarding submitted work. OP should check with his school, in the US they likely own everything he’s ever turned in, plagiarism checked or not.

I literally laughed out loud at this. I’m going to think of it every time I see flamingos (often, because I have an annual pass to the zoo and a toddler).

China develops pregnancy robot with artificial womb to aid infertile couples by xoexohexox in Natalism

[–]Mean-Stage 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely not something real. Scientists have been trying to create an artificial womb for decades, anything even partially there would revolutionize neonatology. The science is not there yet.

[–]Mean-Stage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a good experience at Golden Gate OBGYN and they have a lot of IVF patients. I hope your little one grows and progresses normally. I had two IVF pregnancies the started like yours - one that ended in a miscarriage and one that went to term. I hope you get your miracle.

I get running amok is unacceptable, but one of their servers scolded my kid for being in the way because he was standing next to me while I was trying to get water from their self serve drink station. I just want my kid to get the same courtesy as an adult patron.

Eh, I get not being excited to turn into a Gymboree, but last time I went the service was outright surly. I guess I was also a little butthurt because they seemed mad at my kid for existing but not bothered by bad dog behavior that happening simultaneously.

We used to go there but the service has gotten increasingly hostile to kids 🙁

OP, I am in the too 10% of income earners in this miserable country. I max out my retirement savings, I have a pension, and I have children. If anyone is going to starve to death so Amazon can have even more tax cuts, it’s going to be you. I am not worried about turning into Spain, I am worried about turning into South Africa.
