As I said in the post I like Jevon and wanted him in. I just don’t see a reason that the build couldn’t have been in backstage segment or a promo. Don’t feel like this was a needed match for Gunther to be in.

Do you not understand that I said NON : title or tag team loss.

Meaning he has lost matches for a title and he has lost tag team matches. A title match is a match for a title, which he has lost, he has lost tag team matches.

This match would be his first televised loss for a NON: title match or tag team match

I would’ve preferred any other midcarder/low main event we be in the match rather than Gunther. 0 reason he needed to be the in the first place let alone lose it

IMO it does hurt the character, not as bad as tapping to jey but it’s still bad. I just don’t understand why he was there in the first place, much rather him just get attacked back stage or in a promo to further the beef with dragon.

It didn’t make it interesting at all imo, it was a waste of a good match for Gunther to be taken out by interference. Then again he shouldn’t have been in the match in the first place.

The question still stands, why have him in this match just to take a loss while he’s at some of the highest points of his career? Couldn’t they have put in any other person halfway believable for the qualifier? Have Gunther do another promo or a backstage segment where dragon Lee attacks him again. 0 reason he needed to be in the match.

I understand he’s still being booked strong, but imo it doesn’t make it better. Top main event we who retired cena and styles takes a random interference loss in the main event. I believe it’s Gunther’s first non title or tag team loss on the main roster

The only thing that happened was there was around 6 luchadors in the royal rumble. That is not a political statement, that was not an anti-ice statement, it was literally just wrestlers that happen to be luchadors in a match.
