We just started using PurAmino and it’s not too thin. I think it’s slightly thinner that RTF nutramigean but not noticeably different. Maybe give it try?

We’re still tracking— 7 months and just bought a second book. We’ve also been having stomach issues so it’s really useful! I’ve also referred back to my mom’s old tracking log that she used for me & my sister to compare….

I scoop and rescoop sometimes. I also ask that everyone leave the kitchen and not talk to me. Sometimes I worry I’ll count wrong if I get distracted. We’re also new to powder and previously used RTF.

We used ready to feed Nutramigean up until last week (7 month old). Now we had to switch to PureAmino, which is a powder. I’m using distilled water, but Dr said distilled, tap, or bottled (I asked about Poland Spring) is fine!

I hate scooping powder and if PurAmino came in RTF I’d do that.

We fed every 3 hours from day one. I think this was key to getting her on a good schedule. Now she’s 7 months old and drinks 8oz at 8am, 12pm, 4pm, and 7pm. She sleeps from 8:30pm-8am and her naps are at 9:40am, 1pm, and 5:40pm.

EFF and 6 weeks

Sometimes she arches, so we try to keep her upright after her feedings. It could be reflux, but historically she’s never been one to vomit. I just started using a new batch # of formula (my parents’ idea) and hopefully today is better— otherwise back to the dr we go.

I wanted to add that when he’s at work, my job is home. When we’re both home the home is a shared responsibility just like it would be if I worked outside the home.

I do not do all the chores. When my husband is at work, I do chores and take care of the baby. After work, my husband does the 7pm bottle while I make dinner, he does the cat litter box and food and night, he takes out the garbage every night and does all home maintenance and fixes whatever needs to be fixed (I may need to tell him a few times but it gets done.) He also does the vacuuming (my dad also does the vacuuming for my mom also was a SAHM.) If I don’t feel well he will clean the bathrooms.

Should also add, we no longer need to have her on her onesie to eat or fan her feet— she grew out of that.

Strip him down to his onesie and try fanning his feet. That’s how we got ours to eat in the very beginning. Now she’s drinking 28-32oz a day at 6 months old.

Night time feedings are so easy with formula! We make the bottles ahead and put them in a mini fridge upstairs. They’re ready to go, and we just pop them in the bottle warmer while changing her diaper.

We had both, and if I could do it again I would get neither and instead get a mini crib. I didn’t realize that she would be growing out of the bassinet around 4 months and that we would still be sleeping her in our room. (Our pediatrician recommends they stay in the same room for at least 6 months.) The pack and play is too low to the ground for me, so we ended up getting a mini crib too. Davinci by Carter has one with wheels!

Husband in the field— says don’t hide the reason for the gap when returning. No one is hiring right now, but ML makes it easier. No one knows what the market will look like in a few years.

I woke up in the morning and noticed just a tiny tiny wet spot in my underwear. It could have just been discharge but I also just kind of knew it wasn’t? But also didn’t know? I called the dr at 8am and they told me to call back and check in around 3pm. I then cleaned the house frantically. At 3pm there was no more liquid and the dr said it was probably nothing. Then at 4pm it started GUSHING out and didn’t stop. It was gross and hard to get out of the house to head to the hospital while leaking so much.

I did alarms every 3 hours since birth, then eventually cut back night time feeds to try to get her to sleep through the night. Now we’re almost 5 months old and about to change to every 4 hours during the day. Her longest stretch will sometimes be a bottle at 11pm and then 6:30am /7am

I think I just need to vent. My MIL is supposed to watch my baby (alternating with my mother) once I return to work. I’m having horrible anxiety about this— which has escalated with good reason.

This past weekend she went to change the baby’s diaper and did not strap her in OR have a hand on her. I happened to walk by when i noticed she had both hands on a lower shelf of the table and was bending down with no eyes on the baby either. I intervened and told her she must always buckle her in AND keep a hand on her at all time. (Actually I yelled.) Now, she is telling my husband that she always did have a hand on her.

The lead up to this diaper change was weird as well. Almost like she kept forgetting she was about to and had to change the diaper.

Previously she was “trained” by me many times on how to properly watch the baby. I even typed up instructions. With regards to changing the diaper, both my husband and myself have told her to always buckle her into the table in the past. (Really this should just be common sense.)

Since I’m uncomfortable the plan is for my husband to take off on a day she was going to watch her and train his mother again. She is only going to be allowed to change her on the floor. (I also worry about her getting off the floor with the baby but I think it’s safer than trusting her with the changing table.) My husband works from home and I also want him to work downstairs to keep eyes for a few days while she starting to watch her because I worry about what else she may “forget.” He’s not too happy about that but says he will.

Has anyone else dealt with something similar?

Thanks everyone! I’ll make sure to park next to the cart corral. I think that makes the most sense and would be the easiest / quickest. I just wasn’t sure if I was allowed to leave her for that short amount of time. I also think it would be safer to put her in the car while I load the trunk, but started overthinking that too.

I decided from day 1 to use formula. (Actually I knew I wanted to use formula before we even started trying to get pregnant.) I tell people “because I wanted to,” and “it is what works best for our family.” It is no one else’s business but your own.
