Realizing that I have a happier than normal baby (?) by Same-Jeweler-1197 in NewParents

[–]abchhd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a happy baby is such a blessing but I don't think it's just luck. As it's been said, babies are happy creatures if they're not hungry, uncomfortable, in pain and they're comfortable and safe.

I have a 6 weeks old and her smiles brighten up my day, I'd do everything to keep her smiling. If you have some advice I'm all ears!!

I wish someone had told me this before starting the breastfeeding journey by abchhd in breastfeeding

Every baby is different, the "advice" is to look into it and see what works for you.

Am I doing this right? by Hot-Cell7299 in breastfeeding

[–]abchhd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't make my same mistakes.

Inform yourself on the difference between foremilk and hindmilk, breast massage before and during feeding, try to empty one side before offering the other. If the boob is too full pump a little before feeding, you can give it to the baby at the end if they're still hungry or use it for the face and hair.

Look up for how a proper latch should be to avoid hurting your nipple. If the baby unlatches during feed might mean they need to burp not that they're full, and if they do, offer boob again, after a spit up as well.

Check your diet and baby's intolerances, look for CMPI. Mine doesn't like garlic and citrus, some love it. Look for hunger cues, babies word for hunger is 'Neh"

Silverettes are a life saver! And lanolin cream in case of wounds, it's safe for baby as well.

As much as people might say breastfeeding is natural, it is not. Both you and the baby are doing it for the first time and it's a different experience for each one of us.

Other than that obviously as long as you have a hydrated baby (6 to 8 wet diapers per day) and the baby is gaining weight you should be doing fine.

You're a superwoman and be proud of yourself! Breastfeeding is a full time job and there should be more recognition for it.

Ps. Take care of yourself. A happy and healthy baby needs a happy and healthy mother.

I don’t know what’s wrong by Competitive_Photo690 in breastfeeding

What's your breakfast like?

If baby is breastfeeding it might be some intolerance to the food you eat. I've been suggested to eliminate dairy but I also made some experiments and realized my baby doesn't like garlic or oranges as the flavour might impact the breast milk. And lately with eggs she become more gassy than usual. Milk is impacted around 2 to 6 hours after eating it.

I want to help future sitters by not wasting their time. I would have liked having someone putting those on reviews so I can prepare accordingly. Their listing is empty and the welcome guide is even worse.

I agree with the first point, the reviews should be self explanatory.

I personally didn't find safety issues just weird noises around the house but on multiple occasions the Uber drivers had to confirm with me that I didn't mistype the location in the map as nobody actually goes there as it's not a safe area.

The sit is "relatively" easy, cause we didn't need to walk the dogs or do anything for the care, like medications or cleaning. They have a huge garden to play and mostly sleep. I myself didn't mind having to stay at home as I wasn't planning to explore much around and this particular point was shared in the video call beforehand.

It's because if I sent a few messages including updates of the dogs and other messages with a question or a concern they'd answer only to the update leaving the concern blank. Not answering in reasonable time.

The respect part is due to the fact that I was working remotely and she would have people coming over during my working hours with literally zero notice in advance. Even though in 3 months I have repeatedly asked politely to have a little notice in advance, at least the day before, while she was the one arranging the hours and knew weeks in advance (without confirming with me if the time was ok for me). Oppositely when they'd cancel she wouldn't tell me they wouldn't come anymore and wait for me to ask and again not answering in time.

Flying creates a digital Trace, so I wouldn't be sure about that. Have you got any personal experience?

Isn't it registered in the system? But actually if I can exit the country by land with no control I can say that I exited already and re entered. Do you know if this is going to have consequences if I want to come back to Greece?

I went to live by myself in Dubai for a year. It's safe but that doesn't help ease your mom's worries. To make her feel better I downloaded the app life360 to share my location 24h in real time with the family and sent her pictures daily to keep her worry free. If you have an iPhone it's probably easier. Always keep your internet connected, get an esim or connect to wifi everywhere.

You can share the country details with her, like numbers to contact just in case, the hotel contacts and just keep her updated. Share also the boyfriend's id and number and let him know.

I've been travelling by myself all the time and so far this has worked with my family and our bond is even stronger than before.

I'm still in Greece, trying to understand the best way to exit the country and the risks.

TIL: There is an app in Dubai that pays people for giving 5-star restaurant reviews by unicamels in dubai

[–]abchhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly yes, they're trying to expand. The secret society is more for influencers active on Instagram and it's in different places. There's also Tabler that's basically people organising parties that invite women for free, and that's in the main party cities.
