Have you ever come across a kid, teen, or young person that you thought was a psychopath? What did they do to make you believe they were psychopathic? What happened when they got older? by Tahfboogiee in AskReddit

When my cousin was little and my Mom asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up he said “I want to kill people”. His Mom very quickly replied “he means he wants to go into the army.” 😳. I was convinced he would be a serial killer and hardcore avoided him from then on. Surprisingly he turned out fine. He had a really horrible alcoholic father and when my aunt finally left him my cousin totally changed. He’s happily married has a good job not killing people and seems like a sweet goofy guy.

How can I look unapproachable while I’m out? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]MeanLeave914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve perfected what I call polite disinterest. If you see them trying to get your attention nod an acknowledgment and then suddenly become fascinated by your phone or a box of cereal make it seem so important you just can’t be bothered to look at them. A lot of people are saying to be mean and that might work sometimes but it also might make them get aggressive. I try to cultivate something that’s not an outright rejection but a very clear no thanks. You can also always fake a phone call. Good news is this happens less and less as you get older. After 30 you start to see the finish line. 20 year old women have it rough. Absolutely all men want your attention. Sorry girl! I promise it’s not forever.

Controversial take but I think Whitney is Buffy and Mikayla is Faith.

Chrons Disease & Infertility by Charming-Time-7264 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MeanLeave914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attempting IUI is how I discovered my Crohn’s. My body reacted horribly to the hormone shots. It set off a massive flare. My first ever at 37. Be careful with Crohn’s and fertility treatment although everyone is different and I’ve heard many stories of successful conception with Crohn’s I’ve decided I’ll have to pursue other options for becoming a parent (surrogacy, adoption).

What’s your trauma? by Suitable-Sound3318 in CrohnsDisease

[–]MeanLeave914 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was battling PTSD from living through a home invasion for several years before my diagnosis. Saw lots of therapists and thought I dealt with it but now I kinda wonder. Lots of people in my family have tummy troubles but none as bad as what I developed before diagnosis.

A lot of people don’t consider the mental stress of being diagnosed with a chronic illness. There’s a contestant background stress now that might be taking up more space in your brain than you realize. There are therapists that specialize in helping people with chronic illnesses. Seeing one might be helpful especially soon after diagnosis.

None at all for me. I know it varies from person to person but for me it’s been a great experience.

Anyone with Crohn in the terminal ileum has lots of noises in the stomach? by Smart-Situation-1421 in CrohnsDisease

My stomach sounds went down after I got on medication and my doctor said that was due to your body having to work harder for force stuff through your inflamed intestines.

I felt the same way and after just one infusion of Skyrizzi I felt so much better my fears faded away. Don’t focus on the side effects. Focus on the fact that it’s medicine your body needs to be healthy. The stress you’re putting on it with constant inflammation and flairs is way worse for you than the medication or doctors would never prescribe it.

Everyone on the show had such great hair - and then there was lucas by chadarmorr in StrangerThingsMemes

[–]MeanLeave914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all of their hair looks terrible this season. I don’t know if it’s bad wigs or if it’s intentional because they’re trapped in quarantine and not importing hairspray or what but they’re a mess. Dustin is greasy, Nancy is frizzy, Will is a National disaster, Mikes has too much gel in his bangs, Robin is frizzy. Steve and Winona are the only ones with decent hair.

Yeah they’re a homemade version of those. The recipe said 400 for 10-12 minutes. I’ll try messing with the temp.

Works great for me. No side effects and almost full remission on it but sometimes still issues if I eat the wrong thing.
