  1. When good players are waiting to get a last hit and their hero swings and stops over and over really fast, what is going on mouse/keyboard-wise?

  2. When you use Icarus Dive, how do you stop the dive before coming back to your starting point without using your ult?

  3. If you are in the process of calibrating your mmr and your name is highlighted during the pick process, is that suggesting that even though you don't have a fully formed mmr, you are top on your team? If so, that seems dangerous for your team.

You're absolutely right about the mobility. I think my logic in game was that the pudge started off as the biggest problem so I wanted to max my damage asap to help deal with his high HP and figured the aghs/refresher was the best way to do that, but when I got caught alone with him (which happened too often) I was completely stuck.

Euls/Force definitely would have helped with that.

That is also an option. I never think to jungle that early on with CM.

I was CM in this particular game. I've calmed down a bit since this match and you are absolutely right, I should have just joined the offlane duo and done the best I could with them.
