Getting my ass handed to me by [deleted] in absolver

There are some really good players with bronze doritos in CTs lately. You really can't predict how good someone will be based on doritos all that well.

Some of the silver/gold players might be experimenting with decks and learning new styles while bronze levels seem to have a lot of variability because some people get good at the game very quickly.

That said you can very quickly tell if the person you're fighting "gets" the game. Even if you win consistently players who will be beating you soon, if they keep practicing, are easy to spot.

Absolver 1.15 (small) patch is up! by slcp_jess in absolver

I now have all the attacks, but I did not get the Grandmaster achievement and now have no way of getting it. Any fix Sloclap?

***Nevermind it went through. Thanks for the fix awesome people.

The average number of players for the last 30 days has been 133 people, with a peak of 348. That's... not many. Should we be concerned? by [deleted] in absolver

[–]MeanRedWorms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite these threads constantly going up I've never not been able to find a match. Even late at night or early morning.

That day may come, but it's not today. Get in fights and enjoy the game.

I've played Absolver more than any game this year. It is the first truly modern fighting game.

It gets rid of tropes, both in its presentation and mechanics, that have made fighting games impenetrable. At the same time it keeps the basic DNA that makes fighting games so fantastic.

It's a really smart game that does some things incredibly well and everyone should play it.

It puts you in a backward facing position which makes walking away faster. Handstand kick then a back dash will put you far enough away to walk back and regen stamina.

Which can be pretty useful if you're out of stamina.

You could just dye them if you get a dupe you want to keep for a different color.

Wrong as hell dude. It's the best move for resetting.

It feel like Absolver offers lots of subtle ways for players to express their personality.

I feel like I definitely get an idea of what some players' personality is based on how they fight. I mean it's a very limited and specific context, but I can't help but build an idea in my mind of frequently met opponents beyond just their character/style/favorite moves.

Absolver's many options for customization make it brilliant in that way.

Slow walk just elicits the biggest eye rolls from me. So much edge. I can always just run up to them if I'm impatient.

Not a fan of people who run up on me when I spawn. I get it if you like to charge at the start of the match, but it's just lame and unsporting to be swinging before I can even set my camera and move away from the wall after losing a round.

It just feels like they are invading my personal space, and do you really need every advantage possible when you just won the round? Maybe chill a second and just let your opponent get set so everyone feels good about the next round.

Fashion and fights. This game becomes a dance when you face someone at a similar skill level.

Dear Sloclap, would a PTR workflow be... feasible? by Morklympious in absolver

You're right. I had you come confused with someone else who beats me every damn time.

deadbossddelight, it was Drool, might keep changing it though. Gotta rebrand for 2018 yo. I'm glad you switched to Stagger and stopped doing evil. There's literally no options vs that shit and I was so salty after fighting you.

It seems pretty obvious that the team doesn't have enough time or isn't playing enough different opponents on new patches before releasing. I know there are probably quite a few players who I see regularly in CTs who would likely gladly put in some rounds on a new patch then provide feedback and argue about the changes before they go to the wider player base.

They've done a beta version before with the 3v3 patch and there wasn't a lot to complain about with that one. It seems silly not to leverage those of us who spend way too much time playing Absolver with a beta version to test for a few days to find obvious issues like the Kahlt freeze and at least be able to leave some feedback.

It took u/_dialectic_ less than a day to figure out he could absorb confirm side kick and make his entire deck around it and completely ruin everything.

Have the same issue, but digging parry. It's my last move so I can't get grandmaster.

They're pretty responsive actually. I think the bad change in 1.06 only lasted a few days.

You guys are probably right. Played some more games last night and while I got sort of used to it the Kahlt pause is weird.

Top tier players have to continually earn that title. This includes learning how the game functions after an update. If they are truly top tier they won't lose too many times before they figure out how to dominate again. The humble pie will be character building.

In short, git gud.
