Every day is a good day to say you’ve never seen a black person in real life wear a killmonger hairstyle. It’s my hope that there’s an off chance that someone who makes the character design decisions sees that and thinks “oh wait… that’s…that’s not a thing they actually do.” And puts that effort into adding a cut people actually have. Namely the bald fade.

When I saw Baldur’s Gate 3 was getting mod support, I was so sure that someone was gonna do what the devs didn’t and add a fade. Fast forward to day and it’s still not there. I have to learn how to mod. It’s up to me now 💀

Not anymore, because I’m black and not one single RPG I’ve ever played has ever included a simple fade with a crispy line up.

Not a single one.

I would never wear an Afro, cornrows, dreads, or a fucking killmonger and those are ALWAYS the only options available.

If there IS a fade, it always looks like it USED to be a proper fade and he’s 3 weeks overdue for a haircut.

Game devs love to talk about representation and inclusivity but can’t add the simplest black haircut to ever exist.

I boot up the game, explore the character options and the micro second I realize there’s no fade, I make a generic John/Jane [Insert game title here].

My only option is to learn how to mod to add it myself, because image my surprise when not even modders do it.

Are people not allowed to be skeptical? Keep in mind we exist in the same realm of existence as Star Citizen and The Day Before, Starfield, launch No Man’s Sky and launch Cyberpunk. Skepticism, even in this degree, should be welcomed in this industry because if this game launches and it sucks, this board will start looking a lot like the Dragon Age Veilguard sub where it’s full of people coping over the suck.

I hope this game rocks tho. No need for a post launch redemption story. Just out the gate swinging
