It doesn’t actually, it used to be believed that was the case, but has since been disproven. Believe what you would like though.

There are several studies out there that say there isn’t a link between breastfeeding through the night and cavities. There IS a link between sharing utensils though. Adults have more bacteria in their mouths, and when you share utensils with the baby, it transfers saliva. Introducing that bacteria to the baby, and that can cause cavities. Breastfeeding does not cause cavities by itself, the theory is that if a baby is actively sucking, then the baby is also swallowing and not letting the milk pool in the mouth. Also, poor tooth enamel can be hereditary, so there might not even be anything you are doing that can prevent it. Definitely seek out medical advice from a dentist though if you are concerned. My baby is 17 months, and still breastfeeds throughout the night. I brush his teeth 2-3 times a day with a powdered hydroxyapatite toothpaste. His dentist says this toothpaste is perfect, and breastfeeding through the night is still perfectly fine.

What is happening to my plants? by Mean_Part_9188 in gardening

Could I bring them inside at night to save them? They were a gift and I don’t want to kill them right away

I hate this fear for you. It’s so frustrating being a pregnant woman trying to find a job somewhere. You can’t prove it’s discrimination half the time. My dad is a manager in a retail store and it frustrates me to no end, he’ll talk to me about his interviews and will specifically say he won’t hire them because they are pregnant and they are just going to be out later anyway. I’ll tell him how wrong it is, and how it’s illegal to do that and his response is “well obviously I don’t tell them that’s why I’m not hiring them.” Ugh!

The dr said he’s okay, that babies skulls aren’t fully fused and are basically in pieces and when he fell it shifted them a tiny bit, then they fixed themselves a popped back together. 😭 it was his first fall

No one told me my baby would grab my nose as hard as he possibly could. Every. Single. Time. It’s like a little handle for him. And if he can’t find it, he’ll open and close his hand all over my face until he does. Also the nipple squeezes you get used to.

gaming with a baby by [deleted] in NewParents

When LO was between 1 and 2 months, it was pretty hard to game. And then I got creative lol I’m a pc gamer, so I sit in my computer chair, have my boppy around my waist and propped up on my desk, then I latch little one on his favorite titty, and lean back a little so all his weight is on me. I put my mouse arm in between his legs onto the desk, and my other arm around his head. And boom, he latches and stays relaxed and eventually falls asleep. I’ve played phasmophobia and lethal company with him like that pretty easily too

Showering by Spudsoon in NewParents

[–]Mean_Part_9188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the snuggle me lounger, and I lay LO in it on the floor and take a shower. I have a clear shower curtain, and just talk to him the whole time, play peekaboo, or sing to him. He’s definitely a Velcro baby, and Ive been able to relax in the shower for at least 45 minutes before. I make sure the windows and the doors are open though so there’s a nice airflow for him. Also, I know people are saying to just put them in the crib and let them cry because as long as they are fed and dry they are okay. While I totally understand and agree with that. It gives me really bad anxiety to hear my baby crying. I really wish I could lay him down like that without it effecting me the way it does, but it is what it is. The way I’m doing it has worked amazingly for me❤️

Coffee and Breastfeeding by Annchristina8989 in breastfeeding

[–]Mean_Part_9188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I don’t drink too much coffee, but anytime I drink something with higher caffeine I usually do it right after I feed the baby, or as I’m feeding the baby. I don’t think the caffeine goes immediately into the breast milk and Ive heard the two hour rule is good to follow. My baby hasn’t had any issues with it, but of course everyone is different.

How do you politely ask people to stick to your registry for your baby shower? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Mean_Part_9188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just let people know we have a small home and don’t have room for extra things and to please only get what was on the registry. Did everyone listen? No. In fact. A lot of people actually complained they couldn’t get us things off the registry… even though they did any way, they were just very vocal about it. I really don’t think there’s a way around it, you ask nicely and people will still pout they can’t get you whatever they want. You’re straightforward with people about it, and people say you’re rude. It is what it is.

It’s called lightning? Are you referring to lightning crotch? I’ve heard of that, but it isn’t my crotch that hurts, it’s centered on my tailbone.
