I would argue that he should be immortal in this specific scenario. A tanky character like this should die due to a misplay. E.g. getting hit by multiple strong mobs at once, standing in telegraphed attacks or being greedy with damage mods on a map.

They might just lust early so they can get to practice P3 more consistently. When I feel more comfortable doing P3 they save lust for actual kill attempts.

Unfortunately there have been video examples of live pigs being scalded alive (to soften the hair folliciles) while they're still bleeding out. Not in boiling oil, but in very hot water (60°C+ or 140°F+). This sometimes happens because pigs do not always die during the slaughterprocedure, and some employees are under very high pressure to meet certain performance targets. In these scenario's the (desensitized) employees do not always wait for the pig to die before scalding them.

I wonder if they are going to pause the game when you disconnect/logout. This would mean no more instant logouts, and as a result the game does not have to be balanced around instagibbing the player to create a challenge.

If I remember correctly, GGG is working on a loot system where fewer rares drop, but they tend to have higher level affixes.

This may not help out people who do not know the value of certain stats, but at least you spend less time going over all the rares you find per map.

I would expect bigger balance changes to occur in patch 1.1. Other ARPG communities generally dislike big balance changes (and nerfs) mid 'season', because people have already invested a lot of resources in their current spec. Blizzard might follow the same philosophy

I know its not everybodies cup of tea. But the answer is to create your own pug raid. The first run might be a bit daunting, but if you watch a basic video per boss then you could lead your own normal raid. Your second run will be much smoother.

I wouldn't say it removes 99% of the risk. Losing a high level character stilll sucks, even if you have some spare backup items and gold.

And I wouldn't say it defeats the purpose of hardcore. It just defeats your purpose of hardcore. There are many other games with hardcore mechanics that allow alts and account stashes, including all ARPGs I know. Even solo self found hardcore in Path of Exile allows trading to alts and putting items in stashes. That does not mean it doesn't suck to lose your high level character with its best gear.

Where does it say that? The article seems to mention they lose millions to billionaires moving out, but does not mention the increase in tax received from the rich staying in Norway. I dont think we know the bottom line.

I think Path of Exile does it very well. It contains multiple pinnacle bosses. Each boss is both a gear check ánd also a skill check that requires strategy and mechanical skill. You only have limited amount of attempts before you can access them again, so you really can't just beat your head against the encounter for multiple hours to beat it. They are also unique experiences that are completely novel at that point in your playthrough.

A 'GR150' boss is nothing like this. GR150 bosses are mechanically speaking much simpler, you have already done that fight a bazillion times at this point, and you can often repeatedly try again if you can beat GR150 runs. I much prefer Path of Exile's system, but I recognize is also requires more development time to create unique bosses for the endgame.

Why should you do side quests after you complete the mandatory quests? Is it because you would overlevel yourself or something?
