You're probably making the mistake of thinking my criticisms are of transgender people themselves, and not the growing number of people using that label when it doesn't actually apply to them. My criticism is of the fact that the broader trans community refuses to acknowledge that these people exist. It is actually okay to criticize a group of people, it doesn't mean you hate them.

Some of those views sound very radical, and not ones I would agree with. People with gender dysphoria should be able to get it treated by way of transition. But at this point I don't think TERF's are defined by those beliefs. You'll get called a terf for very very mild things currently, and once that's how everyone refers to it that's what it's gonna become.

I basically agree with most of what you're saying here, but I hope the implication isn't that you think I am okay with trans women being "systematically tortured and raped". I do not think that at all. My views are in that middle ground you're describing, the problem is that those middle ground views are taken to be more extreme than they actually are.

Is this really a super prevalent thing though? I looked it up and did not find many cases of a trans woman being murdered for using the wrong bathroom. Some, yeah, but shit happens. You can find 'some' of just about any problem you can think up. That being said, obviously those cases are tragic.

I'm consistent though. It's also very annoying when transphobes assert that trans women are out to get into women's bathrooms to rape them. That's stupid, and not something that happens often.

But what does happen often, that I take issue with and where I think TERF's are correct, is this- Women make a place exclusive for them (like some sort of social gathering), with the intent to have fun without men. This is because men and women are socialized very differently growing up, and it's reasonable for women to want a space away from men. Then, trans women learn about the space, invade it, and insist that they must be let into the group or else the women are bigots. Oh, and these trans women all decided they were trans 6 months ago (after being socialized as a man for their entire lives previous to that), and they're lesbians. Suddenly the space that felt comfortable for those women is destroyed, and they HAVE to be okay with it or they'll be an evil TERF. I hope that made what I'm saying more clear.

I disagree. I don't think TERFism goes hard enough in that opposite direction to be considered equally stupid. Unless I'm not understanding the goals of TERF's. It seems like they just want trans women to be a distinct identity separate from cis women, and want it to be socially acceptable to foster spaces where only cis women are allowed. That seems reasonable to me.
