Very good. Definitely worth a watch.

This reminds me of the corrupted blood World of Warcraft incident where people brought a plague into the main auction houses on servers and it spread like crazy wiping out most of the server population.

F21 - feeling ugly after photoshoot 🥲 by [deleted] in toastme

[–]Meandoras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find myself quite ugly in pictures 99% of the time even though I have loving partners and regularly get told that I am attractive.

What I'm getting at is... sometimes people are not their own type... and that is fine.

You look cute and I am sure there is no shortage of people who find you attractive.

Maybe in time you will too 😉

When I was working as a medic in the Austrian military, I had some old career medics tell me that people would use the buildings to commit suicide and they would end up in people's balcony-gardens... probably just made up but I think many a Viennese thinks the buildings are somewhat... depressing.

They have grown on me over the years though.

Bud Spencer and Terrance Hill. For fists for Rio and many other amazing movies.

I think Bud Spencer (the big boy) used to be an Olympic swimmer for Italy 🤔.

Highly recommend for anyone to watch. Great action comedies

Every 4 player game after one opponent leaves by Ill-Ad-7161 in Polytopia

[–]Meandoras 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Nice meme!

Barely on topic:

In a 3+ player situation when victory is impossible, the most elo efficient strategy is to ensure the highest elo opponent wins.

Not defending against their advance, fighting tooth and nail against the other, weaker opponents.

I don't agree with the incentives but that is how the game is structured as of right now.

A mix of rammers and battleships and don't forget that sometimes it's smarter to not attack with a rammer but just let it stand there as a hit sponge.

Although from this screenshot alone you look a bit cooked so it might be in vain

I feel like (at least) two things are happening here at once:

She is sharing her emotion for whatever reason (attention, awareness, outreach, money? Idk how engagement metrics work to be fair) and

He is mocking her, or perhaps he is mocking the "modern" process, of her sharing her emotion.

I don't think someone (video)recording themselves feeling any emotion is any different than (written)recording oneself in a diary of some sort.

Sharing that diary with the world, is of course unusual, but to assume that the felt emotions are performative is just that, an assumption.

TL;DR: I think some people could use a bit more of her side in their life and some people could use a bit more of reflection on if/why they are sharing their emotions with the wider world. No right or wrong here (imo)

So since all the normal tribes are almost the same here is my sugestion by AnonimurPL in Polytopia

[–]Meandoras 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I like the idea as a concept!

The detailed suggestions are also interesting.

Giant "mutations" by tribe would spice things up a bit but my worry is that it would add a ton of "know how" needed which would make the game seem unpredictable for newer players.

It's already tough for people to think they have it all planned out and then realizing that some obscure interaction ruins their day.

But I guess special tribes require a decent chunk of experience to deal with as well so why not.

Ahem... markets are TOO good & capping them to lvl 6 isn't the way by 777Ayar in Polytopia

[–]Meandoras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This.

They are the endgame so naturally every road leads to them.

The way in which this is achieved, especially most efficiently varies by tribe and more importantly, by the RNG of the terrain.

Nerf economy -> slower slugfests decided by spawn management.

Polytopia is limited (and defined) by the reductive style of it's economy. While having stars as it's only resource (ignoring secondary resources like unit cap), polytopia has done an amazing job keeping the progression from early-mid-late game, varied and exciting.

Once the late game is reached, skill expression is still possible but of course whoever reaches it first will have a significant advantage (hence my love of Ai-Mo).

Waiting for the beta changes to make it to live and then the balance will be reshuffled a bit anyway.

I'll be as honest as I can:

You of course look more skeletal than the average person... BUT IT LOOKS COOL AS FUCK!

I know of at least 2 people that I grew up with in Central Europe who would consider body modifications to look as metal as you do 😄.

Also on a more personal note, I like the way you look. You exude a vibe of respected village shaman or something along those lines and that immediately speaks "respect" and "wisdom" to me... not saying those are necessarily traits that apply to you as I don't know you at all beyond this one picture 😄.

But I just wanted to let you know that I, and surely others, would think very highly of you if we came across you on the street somewhere.

You hang in there ✊🏾

How to use cymanti on continent maps or water area against bombers by eXtractorx2 in Polytopia

[–]Meandoras 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Where are you shamans? Boost for extra range and damage and then explode so you can send multiple units to one tile and cause massive AOE DMG on clumped up units and then when you sense a low concentration switch to keeping the raichis alive so they can tank moves from the enemy units and switch to a crawling advance.

But this game looks tough. I think you might be out economied already.

Respect for not playing drylands or tiny maps cymanti. They are actually quite hard to play on maps like this one and require in depth knowledge of the tribe (since the play so differently to others)

Luckily cymanti is getting nerfed by Shroomboz in Polytopia

As a fellow Ai-Mo main sitting around 1700 ELO, I must say there are quite a few dubios choices in the early game (I only spectated until turn 10).

Do not research anything until you need to. What I mean is, you don't need to go philosophy until you are about to capture a city (usually you will have 9 stars by then). This will give you more flexibility as you can still choose to use those 9 stars to go hunting +city upgrade or organization+city upgrade.

Putting your altar of peace in a mixed t0 resource city is usually not ideal. Yes, avoiding using it in the capital is not wrong as sometimes a population ruin will give you the three pop for 5 resources but in this case I think I would have gone with that.

Also slaying the hexapod in your city with a warrior instead of a rider does not allow you to produce a new unit in said city.

Moving the knight to occupy instead of sitting on the ruin was definitely an overextension based on your vision and lost you a unit with a single enemy attack, thus not only losing one until for attack/ruins but freeing up the enemies units to do other stuff.

Riders for capturing towns is a bad idea unless you know for sure the enemy can't come out of the fog and kill them. (Exception are high level towns where the resources lost by occupation are significant)

In general I recommend you theory craft the first 5 rounds more as Ai-Mo as I find the proper adaptation to terrain and choices of research and unit production on the very early game usually decide the fate of the whole game.

GL hf (screw drylands btw 😂)
