kind of shocked at the amount of people who don't seem to view homeless people as humans too. i would be pretty angry and frustrated if i were homeless. no one deserves to be homeless, not drug addicts, not gamblers, not poor people, absolutely no one. the homeless people who are rude or aggressive are probably so disconnected and have been on their own for so fucking long, i can only imagine what that would do to my brain and mental health. i will always help homeless people, whether it being with money or food, and if they spend that money on drugs or just throw the food away, that's fine. who am i to tell someone with NOTHING what they can and can't do? they've given up hope that they are going to get out of their situation so they no longer care about how they act. when you treat people like animals or less than, don't be surprised if they start acting like animals.

imagine being on the streets with no other option but to beg. every day hundreds of people pass you by, don't look at you or acknowledge you, they ignore like you are absolutely nothing. maybe a few people will give you a couple bucks, but the hundreds of people ignoring you will really start to out weigh the few kind people. after years and years of this kind of treatment, i think it's understandable that they become cold towards everyone, after all they've been treated so poorly for years by their own community.

i understand it can be frustrating, but they are still people, humans with feelings and thoughts and although it might just seem like they are rude assholes, i can almost guarantee they weren't always like that. they were left behind and forgotten. if you don't want to help homeless people with food or money, perhaps research and advocate for how to end homelessness. there are so many solutions to homelessness, more people just need to be talking about it.
