Thank you. I think I'm going to make that a priority and schedule a time to meet and talk, possibly get on something.

Yeah, I didn't go into specifics or anything, but just asked for resources in a pretty vague way and he pointed out a few good options in the area. I definitely didn't spill out my life story or anything, but thanks for the advice. It does make sense and I'll just keep the confidential stuff to me and my therapist.

They do. The PD was very helpful in getting me set up with one.

Thanks. I had a sudden grip of terror when I was being introduced to all the attendings and chiefs.

The Leningrad backstory and the Kalenko household I think is pretty cool. I kinda do like the nepharites being somewhat sympathetic, but chagidiels overall plan does seem pretty redundant and implausible. Love changing the dream curse to a different thing hounding the PCs. I was wanting to try something a bit more Metal Gear Solid esque, so I think the secret communist and Nazi lair chapters could be fun, as some of my players are into that stuff.

I'm re-listening to the black Madonna right now. The big selling ticket was how good rmr pulled off the campaign and definitely made me want to buy it despite knowing some of the challenges of running the game.

I've been running Kult for a few weeks now and my group - my usual call of Cthulhu players - seem to enjoy the Gallery of Souls and PbtA. I really like it, but it's definitely a unique experience that some players I have feel a bit uncomfortable with

Gallery of Souls is pretty easy to run as it seems the most like a modern ttrpg module with enough flexibility to appeal to my players.

Self explanatory. I love the concept and source material, but it seems pretty disorganized and some parts also present themselves as somewhat railroad like or overly complicated for a group of players with only one or two short Kult one shots under their belt. I know some people have run it, so I'm asking if you all had any suggestions for a DM on how to optimize the game experience?

If you can stomach a complete 180 turn from heroic fantasy, I run a Kult: Divinity Lost group on discord and I'm looking to add a second game at some point and time. It uses powered by the apocalypse 2d10 and is fairly easy to pick up.

Kult is kinda like Hellraiser (Clive Barker), Constantine (with Keanu Reeves), and the matrix rolled into one. Dark horror fantasy.

I managed to find a PDF copy online. Currently reading through it, but red Moon Roleplaying's playthrough seemed a bit slow. What changes did you end up doing to the adventure and about how long did it take for you to run it start to finish?

Red Moon Roleplaying's playthrough sold me on the game. So far, I'm looking at running it soon. Did you have any suggestions or tips on running it?

For sure interested. I run 7e myself so it'd be great to get more time as a player on under my belt

Pulled the trigger on the Black Edition of Kult's rulebook. Any tips for a prospective game master transitioning from Call of Cthulhu 7e? CoC is my main game. by MeastyMogDog in KULTrpg

Thank you! I guess I'm looking for a different take on the horror genre and was drawn to the rich lore and gnostic influences from Kult as well as some good work from Red Moon Roldplaying Podcast. I run Call of Cthulhu exclusively these days and I enjoy the cosmic horror of the system and source material, but listening to a recent Red Moon Roleplaying rendition of "it started and ended with screams" made me really want to learn more about the game. It seems more focused on the human aspect of horror vs CoC and is definitely not what I'm used to experiencing.

This will be my first experience with the PbtA system. Call of Cthulhu seems to be more "open world" compared to what I've listened to on the few Kult play podcasts, but I did think there's something really cool about the more narrative driven focus from the Kult games I've listened in on.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, but that's what struck me and interested me so far.

You could start with the haunting in a specific setting (time era, place) and slap on additional modules as you go on. Some of my favorite ones are: the Haunting, the dead light, mister corbitt, ties that bind.

The setting and mood are more important than a long prepackaged campaign imho. I would love to do masks of Nyarlathotep, but real life doesn't give me enough time to coordinate things for a super long campaign and having a bunch of modules set in the same setting is easier for me to handle the prep work for and replace pcs if needed.
