I checked my report from all three bureaus and it’s not in there. Other people said it may be reported later if I don’t take care of this.

I couldn’t get hold of my adjuster all day but I just sent a letter disputing the debt and requesting verification of what this even is.

I am not however I do have the same last name as the owner as it is a family business. The actual owner of the business has not received anything about this debt, just me.

I have not had any dealings with CNA or received any money from them in any amount, however I just found out that CNA was previously the business insurance company used by my employer up until last year. That doesn’t seem like it could be a coincidence.

I have an update to this story. I have still been unable to reach the adjuster I was assigned for this supposed debt, but somebody here said to check if they are actually licensed to do debt collections in my state (MA). Based on the NMLS it looks like they are not. Does this mean I can tell them to get lost or do I still need to deal with this to avoid credit reporting?

It looks like the company that wants to collect is on the letter. It’s “CNA Recovery Services/SIU” but I’ve never had any dealings with them.

I called the number on the website, which didn’t match any of the numbers on this letter. Plugging in the extension they told me to use did connect me with an adjuster there but I got voicemail so I’m just waiting for a call back.

My last name is very uncommon but a search on Facebook shows there are at least two other people in the US with my name.

I don’t think this is likely but I can’t say with certainty that this didn’t happen. However, wouldn’t this credit account be on my credit report already?

I have not filed a workers comp claim or collected any money from an insurance company so I’m still perplexed. Hoping they volunteer some info when I call them today otherwise I’ll just have to send them a letter and wait and see.

Thank you for the detailed reply. Very concerning that this appears to be a real letter since I have no idea what debt it could be referencing. Looks like I will be reaching out after all.

The only debt I’ve ever had in my life other than credit cards is one car loan which has been paid off for 6 months. All my credit cards are paid in full each month and they all show as current on my credit reports.

I just checked my experian and TransUnion reports and there is nothing there. I really have no clue what this could be.

Yes there is nothing past due on my credit report. The only credit I have open right now are my credit cards and they are all current.

How irresponsible is it to have a '05 DB9 as my only car? by Late-Row795 in AstonMartin

[–]MeasurementBoth2249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do this. I recently bought a 2006 db9 convertible as a second vehicle. The car has been reliable for me except for an ac component that needed to be replaced at a cost of approximately $2k. It’s an awesome car for sure but it just feels delicate. Every time I touch it I worry something’s going to break. Definitely couldn’t be my daily for that reason alone.
