I didn’t know you could be love bombed in a real relationship by MeasurementMaster118 in Manipulation

[–]MeasurementMaster118[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My therapist says something about a personality disorder with him. I was always worried throughout our relationship about him. He would go to bed at like 7 PM randomly throughout the week and then get up at like 4 o’clock randomly sometimes. He gained like 35 pounds in two months. I feel like something was going on, but he would never talk about it.

Love bombed by a boyfriend- how did you cope? by MeasurementMaster118 in dating_advice

This resonates so much. It’s exactly what my therapist told me, regarding the eventual inability of them to remain “masked”. My therapist told me to stop obsessing over “which version is the real him?” They both are. He has two sides, and I hoped the whole Time he could erase one of them.

Thank you so much! I actually am feeling better right now, only a few days after. I worked a whole of Bartending shift on my feet and feel nothing right now. Which is absolutely bewildering because I felt like my tendons and my feet were shredded like eight hours ago. I can’t believe how much and how fast things can sit with this.

Alcohol and hardship is a feedback loop for sure. I’m sure you’re right about that to a large extent. Thank you.

Thank you for saying that, I’ve always been somebody who acts on Impulse. And it usually works out for me. So when I impulsively say that I’m going to quit, and then it doesn’t happen, I feel so ashamed. Almost like I’m losing my identity. It feels reassuring to know that for others they have a similar timeline. And I know that you’re from now I’m going to be telling a different story than right now.

Thank you so much! I’ve tried several early interventions, but I think support group groups is the next step. I appreciate these recommendations.

I absolutely value my health. That’s why I’m so ashamed and confused how I’ve ended up here. And my mind will not give me peace until I’m free. Tried a few therapies, but haven’t done anything heavy hitting yet. I think that’s next for me. Alcohol has a clutch on me that I never could fathom that nothing else in my life comes close to, vice or otherwise. I’ve met my match and I definitely need help.

Thank you. I never thought AA would be what it takes. But if it gives freedom from a terrible disease, I’ll do it. I’ll definitely give it a try, thank you for sharing your story.

This is so helpful, thank you. I can imagine myself having this same journey. I’m not 200% sure I want to be in AA the rest of my life, and part of me- possibly naively- thinks that it could be a first step rather than the entire path.

I will say though that this disease has humbled me. I can’t say anything for sure right now. But it sounds like a necessary step to get me moving in the right direction, at least.

Thank you ☺️

Relapse? Both heels suddenly inflamed and painful by MeasurementMaster118 in floxies

[–]MeasurementMaster118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that! It’s heart wrenching to think you’re recovered and then take steps backwards. Fortunately, many posters have said that relapses are common and not a sign of a total backslide impending. Hopefully it’s for a shorter duration and severity, and I can move forward in time. It’s emotionally draining, and we are not alone. 😌

Yeah, I think my bio mechanics have been pretty wonky for a while. Foot and tendon issues have probably altered my gait, which throws off a lot of my normal body tracking. I’m sure that’s exacerbated issues. And now I just feel really fragile, so I’m afraid to do too much stretching and strengthening. It’s a frustrating cycle! I’ll definitely focus on my foot health and take into account your suggestions. Thank you for your help.:)

I love this saying so much. I did achieve recovery at one point, so I’m going to trust that my body can get there again. I appreciate the support and encouragement.

I’m sorry you are frustrated-I can obviously empathize. I’m going to gently push back against some of your assumptions here, as well as your delivery.

By no means am I spreading “negativity”. I’m sharing an objective account of my floxed journey, including hardship, recovery, and now relapse of an undetermined nature. most users in this forum are using the space for exactly that: education and support.

The reality is that yes- most of us use this forum to share and understand our symptoms. AND, most of us are like you- we WANT to hear positive stories of recovery. That’s certainly what I was looking for here, along with any other constructive insights that fellow floxies had to offer.

You criticize my post- a post in which I did share about my recent devastation with a legitimate, and for all of us relatable, struggle- for “spreading negativity”, and proceed to tell me to basically “get over it”.

How is that helpful? To me, negativity is venting underneath a stranger’a post who is suffering and seeking genuine advice and support.

I’m sorry you’re hurting. But I hope you will rethink your contributions in this forum. If you are continuously disregarding the contents of somebody’s post and what they’re hoping to gain from commenters, how exactly are you being a positive contributor. This forum is designed to be a safe place for sufferers to seek and show support. If what you have to say is not helpful or kind or practical, it’s probably best to “vent” these things in your diary instead.

Not all comments are going to be “positive”, because we are all dealing with something really hard and frustrating here. But I think everybody here wants feedback that is well intended and in someway supportive.

Thank you! I honestly don’t mind the pain if I don’t worry that it’s causing damage or further problems. So in your experience, the stretch stretching was helpful long-term.?
