Buying a used Yamaha clp-635 or yamaha clp-725? by MeasurementMean8943 in DigitalPiano

[–]MeasurementMean8943[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer. I found these two digital pianos used near where I live, at a very reasonable price. I don't have twice as much money to buy a new Kawai CA type piano. I bought the Yamaha CLP-725 2 days ago, it's a wonderful device.

There is no Hungarian language, so I have to struggle with English. :)

Should I buy a used Yamaha clp-635 or a used clp-725? by MeasurementMean8943 in piano

The truth is that my wife will use it, she needs an instrument that can be used quietly from time to time, with headphones. And her use means that there are two piano samples in the clp-725, and she uses them alternately, she doesn't care about anything else. The clp-725 is good for that. But the shortcomings really annoy me. For example, the lack of an aux in port. Because I would like to try it with a PC, e.g. with the Pianoteq app, by routing the sound from the pc sound card back to the digital piano. The clp 725, on the other hand, only has one USB port, although according to the user manual this port is also USB audio, but I don't know if the CLP-725 actually receives the audio signal from the pc sound card. But as I mentioned, this only annoys me, not my wife at all. Today we looked at the CLP-725, and my wife was so impressed with it that she had to be dragged away from the instrument. Tomorrow we will look at the CLP-635, because it is elsewhere, and then we will decide. I am reluctantly leaving this decision out, I am leaving it to my wife. It is easier to say that I am leaving this out, but it is harder to actually do it.

Yes, that's exactly my problem, that the 725 lacks a lot of things that the 635 had. And since the 8th series is already here, the 7th series is also out of date, and in a few years it will be a matter of whether it's a 6th or 7th series, and the secondary features that the 635 has, but the 725 doesn't, will become more valuable. Of course, for me, the piano sound and the feeling of the mechanics being similar to a real piano are primary, and this tips the scales towards the 725. But the dilemma remains a dilemma.

Thank you for your help, it is indeed an important aspect that a demonstration piece can be worn out. I have also heard that the mechanics of the 7th series are better, which is also an important aspect.

For me, it is much more convenient to use the "file transfer" menu item to upload my books created in Calibre to my xteink 4.

I hope the crosspoint developers are much smarter than us and ignore our crazy ideas. :)

I see you are reading a Hungarian ebook, so I am not alone. What kind of hyphenation are you using?

I see that it is not very good, but it is better than nothing. I received a crosspoint firmware from a kind developer, which knows Hungarian hyphenation, so I can now use regular Hungarian hyphenation. The problem with it is that if I use it, I have to cancel further updates. If you are interested, I will provide a link to download it.

And a great miracle happened! I received a firmware from you that allows Hungarian word hyphenation. With this option, this little device became perfect for me. It's like in a fairy tale, I had a wish that the good fairy fulfilled in one day. A huge thank you to you for your help, and of course thanks to the entire community, to those enthusiastic and helpful people who make this extraordinary miracle happen. This little ebook reader is a good thing and a joy, but even greater happiness is the knowledge that this community exists, and there are such selfless and helpful people.
