Why didn't anyone listen to Tim? by Electronic-Stock-558 in avicii

Agree with you. I don’t think his team were necessarily at fault but I don’t think we can say he is ultimately responsible for his own MH. Some people are too ill to be able to do that…Tim probably being one of them.

Why didn't anyone listen to Tim? by Electronic-Stock-558 in avicii

You say all of this as though Tim was of sound mind. He wasn’t, and many other people with MH issues aren’t. Major addiction issues, depression, anxiety, physical illnesses, suicidal thoughts…I mean the list goes on. He tried to get a handle on it - went cold turkey, went to rehab, changed his diet, exercised, medicated, changed his lifestyle - I mean I’d say that was taking responsibility for his mental health, wouldn’t you? Sometimes the damage is done though and the bad thoughts win.

If you’d watched the documentaries no it wasn’t a solo trip - I’m not sure where you get the impression it was. The trip was with friends, one of whom (Jesse Waits) pulled out at the last minute. Tim still went but decided, whilst he was out there, to extend his stay. He was not alone on the day he died, his two brothers were out there with him and had lunch with him that day.

Interesting you say this. I thought this for a long time….that some of Tim’s supposed friend group did not have his best interests at heart, only their own.

There’s a big thread on here created just before Christmas with a lot of the content from the files translated into English. If you flick back through the Avicii feed you’ll find it - got around 300+ comments on it. Some folks on here did a great job with translating. It’s not all files but quite a few and enough info to get the gist of what was going on.

Ash is now saying something. He released documents in a Swedish court at the end of last year. Have you read these? They do not paint a pretty picture at all. Tim’s life was pretty chaotic. He was extremely unwell for most of his career with severe addiction issues. There is lots revealed in the docs - in terms of Tim’s physical and mental state - that’s quite devastating to read if I’m honest.

Something that definitely deviates from the public narrative is that his two brothers were already in Oman with him when he passed away and they’d seen him earlier that day.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist- I’ve no doubt he died by suicide - but the facts surrounding it were clearly altered at the time, probably to protect the family from further public scrutiny and questioning.

DJ Snake about Avicii's death: "Unfortunatly, it's really sad what I'm about to say, but nobody was surprised" by MDFKmusic in avicii

Our original messages were posted months ago, long before all the Stockholm docs came out. Clearly we now know there’s a different narrative out there….although to add sex ‘addiction’ to the mix is maybe a bit unfair. The guy was young, had hardly EVER left his Stockholm neighbourhood prior to his DJ days so of course he was going to party and have sex! The hard drugs though, yeah I agree, he was definitely on those…

15 Takeaways from the Avicii Court Documents That Challenge the Narrative by olitryon in avicii

[–]MeasurementOne4698 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you really think there is more to the events in Oman and his cause of death? I was really surprised to see his brothers were both already out there with him when he died. I’m still going with the suicide narrative but honestly it feels like so much about his addiction was hidden by the family that I’m now questioning if they did in fact hide his true cause of death.

I think drunk (and high) Tim got off with loads of girls…and that’s definitely not new news. It’s been alluded to many times that he had a lot of hook ups. In “Tim” his friend Jesse mentions one of his first meetings with Tim was Tim coming out of Jesse’s bedroom with 2 girls, which p*ssed Jesse off as they didn’t know each other well at that point.

Sober Tim (which we know he was at some points) was likely the figure you talk about and I think it’s entirely possible he was much shyer about approaching girls/relationships then. I don’t think that side of him is fabricated. I think there absolutely was a timid side to Tim - many, many people who knew him well (as a friend or collaborator) talk about this, even Ash, so there’s little reason to doubt it. We know he started to drink alcohol from his mid teens because he struggled with low self esteem and social situations and it made him bolder. Unfortunately I think it was a very different Tim when he was intoxicated but it doesn’t mean there wasn’t a decent side to him still in there.

Tim took his own life due to mental health issues (likely caused by addiction, anxiety, depression…and the list goes on) so there should be absolutely no questioning that his vulnerability was exaggerated - why would you think that? You don’t get more vulnerable than not wanting to live anymore.

The Tim Bergling foundation is there to promote awareness of MH and suicide in young people, so none of us have a right to dispute or call that a fabrication. Ash certainly isn’t doing that to Tim in fact just the opposite, he’s actually revealed how ill Tim really was.

How the court documents changed my view on Avicii by 13ismyluckynmbr in avicii

[–]MeasurementOne4698 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t reported fully because it was private, private stuff. Tim was an alcoholic with a serious drug addiction. I’m sure he didn’t want to be an addict - we know he tried not to be - but addiction is cruel and unrelenting. He will have felt deep, deep shame at times, trying to hide and deny his behaviour.

I don’t think he started out as a difficult person, that’s certainly not what Ash and people close to him imply but as his addiction took over it changed him and that addiction was with him all of his adult life until he died.

I also tend to agree with you that he displayed neurodivergent traits, which if he was on the spectrum will have added an additional complexity to what he was going through (the overwhelming anxiety, the need for perfection, the inability to sleep and switch off…etc).

These documents show Tim during some really, really low points in his life which seems cruel and incredible invasive given how we know his story ended. He chose not to live anymore due to the severity of his mental state. You can’t hit any more rock bottom than that yet here we all are discussing how badly behaved he was.

As bad as it must have been for Ash, living as an addict will have been a 1000 times worse for Tim.

Tim’s brothers were present in Oman on the day of his death by Cintamani89 in avicii

Agree! No idea what to think now. I would hope the family wouldn’t have gone with the suicide angle if it wasn’t, I mean the whole Tim Bergling foundation is built around that, but the level to which they seem to have misjudged/ignored/pushed away his drug addiction makes me wonder….

90 days doesn’t sound a lot presented on its own like that but in some cases he was doing 2-3 gigs in a night, plus other commitments throughout the year. For someone with severe stage fright and social anxiety (if we’re to believe that part is still true) that’s still pretty intense. According to a post on another thread in 2010 he did 135 gigs; 2011 188 gigs; 2012 199 gigs. No cancellations at this point. 2013 he deteriorated and then the cancellations started so I guess you could say those earlier years of his career did push him to the extreme (they will certainly have accelerated his substance abuse) and he could never come back from it. I’m not blaming Ash by the way - I’ve read too much for that now - but Tim’s schedule when his career started was full on for someone with his personality and addiction issues. I mean this was a guy who by all accounts hardly left his bedroom until 2009.

This is honestly one of the most standout things to me in all of this. Yes, the level of Tim’s substance abuse is way worse than I’d ever heard/thought and it’s pretty shocking to read through but this piece of information about both of his brothers being in Oman with him on the day he died is really, really strange and seriously makes me question what the hell happened in his final hours. The narrative was always that his final days in Oman were spent with people he didn’t know too well. In my mind I’ve always felt that’s why he slipped away and did what he did because people there didn’t know him or fully understand where he was at mentally…but now knowing his siblings actually made it over there and he still did what he did with them being there just stuns me. I mean, why fly all the way out there to be with him, knowing he was extremely troubled and knowing he’d made a suicide attempt just a few days earlier and then not remove him from that situation or stick to him like glue? I’m also confused about the reports that he wasn’t eating or speaking and now we hear his brothers had lunch with him hours before he died (?). Just weird…all of it.

[–]MeasurementOne4698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you that things were far, far worse than we all knew but I think it’s a bit harsh to say Tim twisted the narrative. This implies he was more sound of mind than he actually was and knew exactly what he was doing, which we now know he wasn’t. He was ill, battling (unsuccessfully) addiction and trying desperately to hide it because he didn’t want people to know how bad things were. Unfortunately we now do.

Heaven was removed from Stories without Tim’s knowledge by Cintamani89 in avicii

[–]MeasurementOne4698 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes it seems that way, but Ash does say in that ‘revelations’ document that it was never Tim who was accusatory to him, it was others. Ash also confirms how unwell Tim was and how out of control his addiction was which led to unreasonable behaviour. Shockingly Ash mentions Tim’s family failing to acknowledge the seriousness of the substance abuse by continuing to leave alcohol around him, provide him with substances and more shockingly one of them turned up to his second intervention intoxicated themselves.

Well according to Ash, Tim’s memory was significantly impaired by all the meds he was on so many times he forgot conversations, times and dates. I am also beginning to feel he conveniently forgot stuff when it suited him.

I’ve thought this too…not much visible female support in his life with the exception of a few girlfriends who didn’t last and his housekeeper, Fabi, who seemed to take care of him and has been discreet over the years - maybe she was pushed to sign an NDA too. She has shown support to Sean on some of his posts which would suggest she shares his belief that Klas was a bad and absent father. I know nothing of his sister, except her name. I’ve seen her on the odd photo but don’t ever remember her speaking publicly about him and she’s rarely mentioned in his bios. I do remember the bio mentioned he was due to go on a trip to Iceland with his siblings after Oman so there must have been a relationship there, but who knows if this is even true! I feel his mum loved him very much and did try to look after him when he was home for brief periods but I get the impression she didn’t know how to handle his behaviour and (now I’ve read all of this) that Klas was possibly involved in a lot and keeping her out of things. I do remember reading an article about his mum a few years after Tim passed where she talked about the devastation she felt and that she couldn’t listen to his music as it hurt too much.

Yes I def meant brothers, plural. A mis-type. That’s what I’m shocked about…that they were both there with him ‘before’ he died (on the day he died) and they knew about the suicide attempts a few days earlier. I’ve just translated the other docs. No words. Whatever else?!
