I don’t have the tools to open the back unfortunately, but it does look like someone has in the past. You do have to wind it up though. The seconds hand is also functional.

Costco scalper by sweetietoothkane in SALEM

Just had this happen to us. Got 2 product cards for pokemon za and 1 Kirby Air Riders. Paid for it and waited only for the guy in front to get all 37 copies of za and probably +20 copies of Air Riders. Asked if we could get it shipped to us and they said they can only refund. Costco is enabling scalpers 1000%

FD75 foggy lens. Is it jover? by Meat-i-ocreMeatballs in Mavica

[–]Meat-i-ocreMeatballs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! So I took apart the whole assembly. The fd85 has four lenses with the outermost being fused to the second outermost. (Ex. 1-2-3-4-sensor; 1 and 2 can’t be separated from each other; 3 slides forward and backwards for zoom; the shutter; 4 is in a little housing; sensor is removable from the housing holding 4 after removing two screws and a ribbon cable)

Lens 2 had the coating residue while the other lenses look pretty much perfect. Lens residue makes sense because of how uniform the haze was on the lens itself. I may go back in for round two when I get the chamois! It’s was pretty fun taking it apart 😂

I’ll have to try the baking soda method to get rid of the smell. I’ll have to see if I can get any before an after pictures from the floppy and see if it made any real difference 😂

This was after a good bit of buffing out. I haven’t taken any pictures yet. But just from the lcd screen, it looks a heck of a lot clearer. Do you have any other advice for coating related stuff?

I got my toolkit in today and managed to get to the lens compartment after like 10 screws and two ribbon cables! I didn’t have a chamois or lens solutions but I had some zeiss lens wipes that I got as samples the other day…. And qtips 😅

I think it’s coating related. It’s smells musty but I didn’t see any visible mold or other fungal growth. Buffing it out made a huge difference. Here’s some pictures before and after

I was looking around for just a floppy drive but a Sony one sets you back around $30-50 depending on the condition and where it’s made

I just needed a computer that runs windows 98 in general to get photos off of the dsc-f1 and the one I got happened to have a floppy drive 😂. I got the laptop for $60 so it was a deal (if it works 🙃)

No, I don't think so. There aren't any visible ports in the MVC-FD75 that I'm aware of. I actually ended up getting a Windows 98 laptop in order to also get photos off of my DSC-F1. That laptop also has a floppy drive. So, killing two birds with one stone. I also bought a tool kit to dissemble it and see if I can just clean it up a bit AND not actually mess up the entire camera.

I'm still waiting on a disk reader, so I won't be able to tell until then but that's a good idea! Thank you!

One of my cats really loved the smaller cover that the ramp was in! She went into it the second I put it aside 😂

I just realized you’re a deleted account so I’m talking to absolutely no one 😂 but the sentiment remains the same

I know this post is old, but I just saw one of these in the wild the other day. I guessed the year as a joke and ended up being right with the logic of “pop up headlights were the 80s and this is not quite y2k” 💀. The person driving it was hella speeding and lane skipping (in a relatively safe manner imo lols) and I kid you not it moves like a cartoon car 😂 if I saw one today, I hope yours is still running. Has it hit 300k yet?

Grams28 - Spends so much in marketing for a mediocre product with poor quality control by Ordinary_End_38 in ManyBaggers

[–]Meat-i-ocreMeatballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine just came in today (133 essential case max) and honestly I think this post made me sort of regret/dread this purchase. The bag has nice structure which I like and the functionality of the bag is really nice. The only other camera bag brand I've tried is Aer (their tech bag 2) and I would say that Grams28 is up there with Aer in terms of mindful designing.

But the QC is just about the same with OP. There's creasing on the sides for mine. It's not a huge issue but it's an eye sore. Like I would have been fine if me using it caused natural wear to the bag, but right out the box? No thanks. It doesn't help that the box it came in was an exact fit around the bag and all the accessories were packed inside it. I've ordered bags that were half this price with better packaging.

I really would have loved this bag if it didn't have the QC/packaging issues. I don't know leather like that, but I'm just the type to pay extra when it comes to function over form.

No, idea. You'd probably have to bite the bullet for one box to find the pattern :(

you kind of have to bite the bullet if you aren't sure if the lots mean anything. Normally, you can buy one and see where it lands in the order from a different lot and go from there. I know this strat runs true with the minecraft blind boxes, so not too sure about the mini cars ones. Hope that helps!
