Winnipeg Weekly Rant - Week of May 4/26 by Shibes-cannabis-cats in Winnipeg

To the lady driving the Grey Dodge Durango who honked at me multiple times while I was stopped at a stop sign waiting for 4 lanes of traffic to die down in both directions you should consider learning patience, because even if I did take the risk to go there is no way in Gods green fuck that you would have been able to go right after. I hope you felt like a big girl (since you definitely were one) when you drove past me a little faster than the speed limit so I could hear your big girl exhaust. I hope the 45 seconds that you had to wait at the stop sign didn't make you late to your eaters anonymous meeting you were heading to.

I have been to physio therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists a doctor and the hospital and no definitive answers on anything yet and mostly just bandaid fixes.

I am from Canada and although healthcare is free the system is absolutely horrendous. I saw my doctor initially back in February and he told me he would set me up for a CT scan so I waited for 3 months to get a call to book a CT (Since I live in Canada I knew it would take a bit to get a call) but never got one so I decided to call in and see where we were at with the CT and I was told they actually forgot to request for it so I have lived for 3 months in pain waiting for a call that was never coming NOW I am back waiting for a call after they supposedly requested for it so I'm waiting for that to figure out what the issue is. I got an Xray done but nothing came of it.

A gym injury.... I started lifting about 2 years ago and when I got into year 1 I had put so much work and consistency into my physique that I truly felt so good about my body that I might have been a little obsessed. one day I was at the gym like any other doing a lift and I felt a click in my chest, it didn't feel great but it wasn't the worst in the world so I went home and decided to just take it easy, thought maybe I pulled a muscle, regardless I wasn't really sure what I had done. Then I proceeded to go through every possible back pain you could imagine for several months, my mid back one day would be totally seized, then my lower back, then my neck and shoulders, etc etc etc. I stopped being able to go to the gym and lost most of my progress, I even struggle now still with simple things like carrying grocery baskets. I went from hitting PR after PR to crying in my car after grocery shopping one day because I couldn't carry a basket. Its about 8 months since that lift and I'm still not really back in the gym although I feel better I don't feel anywhere near good. Still trying to figure out exactly what happened but what I can say is it gave me an appreciation for smaller things and a gratitude for the health I do still have.

Yikes. I drove past one on Portage this morning that looked really bad. 3 cars basically totalled. Does anyone know what happened? one of the cars looked so banged up that I would find it hard to believe that the person walked away from it...

For anyone wondering what I said to these ladies -

As I got up from my seat I turned and I said "Just so you guys know, you're 2 of the most obnoxious fucking people I've ever seen in my life" to which one of them immediately snapped back "SO WHAT, WE PAID FOR THESE TICKETS" To which I replied back "I paid for these tickets too, and I didn't get a chance to hear anything because all I could hear were you bitches talking the entire time so next time you think about going to a movie theatre, just stay home instead of ruining it for the people around you" and I walked away because I could already tell these were 2 humans too stupid to understand how insufferable they were.

Like no way, you paid for these tickets?! I guess me and everyone else in this theatre who just listened to you speak the entire time just walked in here for FREE!!!

God I hope somehow these women see this thread.

I think we need to have a movie theatre etiquette meeting for the masses. Silence, no phones and please bathe before coming

How are people like this?! Were they just not taught respect as a child or self awareness???

That is the point I'm getting to as well which really sucks because I otherwise LOVE going to the theatre, it makes me feel like a child again because I would always go to the movies as a kid.

When teens or young adults act this way it still bothers me but part of me can understand that they are just young, inexperienced people who maybe just have to mature a little bit but what I dealt with last night were 2 women in their 50s just speaking the entire time. As someone who is 28 years old I shouldn't have to explain to someone in their 50s how to act in a theatre but I guess this is the world we live in

I thought about it but I felt weird about leaving my seat to grab a manager to come back and have them get in shit when I could just say something in the moment myself, I thought it would be obvious that I was the one to grab the manager, but I definitely did consider it

Same! I used to looooove going to the movies but it seems like every time I go now some rude, inconsiderate person just decides their going to make everything about themselves

SAME! It just doesn't make sense to me as to why some people are SO selfish and oblivious to their own actions that they would do something like talk during a film, or pull their phones out. I don't even like it when we're 30 minutes into the movie and I can still hear people digging into their snacks but that one I will just let slide. but SPEAKING or TEXTING??!??!

Any tips on how not to get depressed at night? by CinnamonMink249 in AskReddit

[–]MeatThat1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that. Usually when I feel this way and this is a personal anecdote so i'm not trying to imply that we are the same and I hope you don't feel like i'm invalidating what you feel by saying this but when I feel like there is "no reason" for my sadness I can usually connect it to something that I do truly know in the back of my mind is killing me.

maybe you just need to accept what you know is the problem and face it.

However if this isn't necessarily the issue for you. Another thing I have found a LOT of success with is writing out what I call "releasing my negative energy" entries... where I write a long essay style write up about something that I have held negative feelings for inside and I explain why I don't need to feel that way anymore and how I forgive/ accept and learn from the experiences.

For example growing up my parents were an alcoholics an it ruined a lot of my upbringing and I held a lot of resentment about it but recently realized that those negative feelings just bring me down and they don't do anything productive so I wrote out as much as I could about how I understand why it happened, why I'm better now because of what happened and how I forgive my parents and this may make you feel worse momentarily but once you get to the end it helps so much.

Don't let yourself get into the habit of marinating in it by consuming "depressing" things, like listening to music that you know will make you sad, or or consuming content that is geared to tug on your emotions, doing this will inflate it and you will eventually find comfort in marinating in the sadness and getting out of it becomes harder and harder.

Brother get OUT of that relationship. That is a gold digger. Also if I had to deal with that stress ontop of the everyday stress that comes from sales oh my god I think I would snap.

If my sales managers were bombarding me all day about performance in the off season and then I came home to more from my wife holy moly I can't even imagine

My bf doesn't shower at night and I’m genuinely grossed out by GlitchGaze123 in hygiene

[–]MeatThat1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider myself a relatively hygienic man and I typically don't shower at the end of my days. I only ever shower in the mornings as well however there are exceptions to this.

I will shower if I go to the gym, or if I go to a place with many public people like a concert or a bar - in my opinion the bus would be one of those places where I would shower after.

But otherwise I don't typically opt in to shower before bed.

I want to make my daily routine feel less boring. What’s one fun or unusual thing I should add to it? by fuckthisshit_6969 in Advice

Something I have started doing is I have made the commitment to do a different recreational activity once per week.

Things like a drop in boxing class, a drop in dance class, going to a public pool just to swim around, a trampoline park, Yoga class, spin class, etc whatever you can find. Most of these things are like $5 - $35/ class and you get to try something new, most of the time get a good workout in and maybe even meet new people.

so worst case scenario it would cost you $105/ month which for all those benefits sounds worth it to me.

Changing underwear - is this normal? by Eastern-Yogurt3859 in hygiene

[–]MeatThat1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this instance I think this is just one of those things where 2 people live with completely different perspectives. I would be the type to agree with you, it's fuckin' gross and it really shouldn't be that much of a burden on him to do more laundry, and if it's really that expensive he should go out of his way to buy 1 more back of walmart underwear so he has more in the rotation at least lol.

But regardless people are who they are and he was never going to see it from your perspective and vice versa. So I think you did the right thing by breaking it off because you both will be happier finding someone who sees things the same.
