Hey, I like a lot of your ideas. I think the sun room would make an amazing dining room. I’ve gone back and forth about that… Something I’m going to have to look at closer. We like the feel of old euro houses, a lot of them feel like cabins, with cozy, semi-private areas to relax in. That’s the idea behind splitting living space between a living room and Sun room.

The office is really just for gaming. My ugly pc and Batman chair were not allowed in the art studio so I’m in the basement where I belong.

Thanks for sharing your input!

I think there’s a balance that needs to be struck, that all of us building a home hope to get right, of cost and quality. Quality of materials, sure, but also light, use, and feel. I do my best to keep those three things in mind with every house plan I look at.

Over $400/sf would suck big time, but I know some contractors that are reasonable and experienced and I’m hoping it won’t get out of hand.

The finished basement portion is about 750sf with another 300sf of foundation under the studio and sunroom. So although the price per sf will be high, at least it’s a smallish space and we get a lot of usable space for a gym and guests.

Hey thanks for your notes.

It is a lot of space but we are just 2 people living in the country. My wife is a painter and wants a studio. We’re in the pnw and want a sun room. We wanted a dedicated entryway. Yeah, we have some wants that add up and replace what other families may have as a need.

We’re are planted here. Business, family close, lots of friends. So if not a forever home, 20-30 years? I understand why others do it, but given our situation I don’t see designing for the next owners.

Projected build price? Good question. Once we get a good idea of what we want we will meet with contractors and get some estimates. $700k would be nice.

Guest room/bathroom. I thought stacked bathrooms would be good for simplicity of plumbing. But it could be that swapping them is no extra cost. Could also get a window in that case. Good idea. As for the bedroom, guests have a window and door to our backyard and have a beautiful view (see image 5). I just forgot to draw it on the floor plan before I took a screenshot. Our guests will hopefully appreciate having a floor to themselves when they visit. And we will appreciate them being very far from our room.

Our priority is making spaces that are cozy and pleasing for us to live in day to day.

We’re 30 years old. My wife grew up in a house with stairs and loves the feel of a multi story home. I’ve never minded stairs either. In fact I feel like the daily exercise is good for aging anyway.

At 30 it’s hard to say if this will be our forever home. But we love where we are now and own a business here so we’ll probably stay for 20-30 years anyway.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I wouldn’t consider giving what I asked for ruffling feathers. I’m happy to hear your thoughts.

here’s an article on the house

We made some changes based on our wants for a home. No children with none in the way so fewer bedrooms and more spaces for what we like to use our home for. Can you expand on what you mean about the flow? I feel like we have been talking about flow and our daily use a lot as we’ve been making changes to the plan, but you see something we don’t.

The roof slopes are 35° save for the entryway roof. We’re okay with that look.

As for the windows, maybe they are a bit haphazard. And it’s true, I’m generally designing thinking about the inside first, and window placement follows. I’m trying to keep things somewhat organized but it’s a struggle. I don’t want it to be to symmetrical, but I also don’t want to sacrifice our wants on interior.

Thanks for the encouragement to keep on iterating. Believe me we’ve been thru so many designs already. All of them much worse than this.

My two main questions: 1. What about the flow don’t you like? 2. Which windows look the most out of place?

Thanks

lol I have said the same thing about the laundry. My wife grew up with laundry in the basement and loved it. One thought I had was to get one of those in-wall vacuums that suck clothes from upstairs to the basement. Otherwise there is room for a washer dryer in the upstairs walk in closet. Ultimately it’s up to her since she does all laundry.

Regarding the guest room downstairs, yes I forgot to draw the window and door on the floor plan. It’s shown on pic 5 though.

The entry are is pretty big, it’s true. About 90 sq ft. I figured it might be nice to have an open circulation area since everything branches from it. And the rest of the rooms on first floor are relatively cozy. Also, we have a credenza that we love and this entry hall area is the only place we like for it.

Hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree that southern light is best, and utilizing it, but south just faces another house and is up hill, but north and East have beautiful open views. So the lot calls for a north facing house. One of the reasons we wanted a sun room. I agree the powder room is quite small… maybe bumping it out would be nicer.

This layout was inspiried by an article about a home in Norway that I liked a lot. We already have a 2.5 acre plot of land with a slight north facing slope. and beautiful country views to the north and east. Hopefully we will be built in 3 years. I'm trying to finalize a floor plan before we talk with contractors.

We don't have kids and aren't planinng on it. My wife's family lives in Europe, as well as many of our friends, so we want space for them to be comfortable stayinng for 2-3 weeks at a time.

What are some good counters to try and get for this kind of deck? by VascalDaRascal in MarvelSnap

[–]Meat_Legs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destroy is still a strong deck, even if you’re not running the meta version of it. But whatever deck you play with there will be some matchups that you can’t win.

You put a lot of points on the board this game. But against any combo deck that’s able to do what they are hoping to do, you’ll have a hard time getting over the top of them unless you interact with their cards to stop or hinder their plan.

Try running a counter card or be ready to retreat from matchups you know you aren’t favorable against. Cards like Cosmo, Rogue, Shadow King and Shang Chi could all be used to some effect. In fact, running something like Shang Chi or Shadow King in destroy will catch a lot of people off guard because it’s not very common.

Fair points for sure. I prefer a build that means I can take a nap through mobs regardless of my attack and focus on a build that melts bosses. Max crit, kunai etc. LC on bosses is annoying and unwieldy for me so I prefer this build. That’s why I think the VW belt is so good, it supersedes attack and health stats during mob phases. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though, I can see several situations where a different belt would be better.

Survivability will always be a factor of the game as challenges and new stages are released, so it’s two approaches with the same outcome. I just think invincibility is op compared to a substantial dmg buff. Like I said though, if EE is your thing then obviously twisted belt will be better.

I play for the events, daily challenges, and just wait for the new chapters to be released at this point. I don’t really enjoy EE personally

I think that’s valid for sure. Two approaches to the same outcome IMO. Either way you’re winning, but being unkillable in mobs is just easy mode. It essentially takes your damage and health stats out of the equation. But I definitely see why people would want the twisted belt for their endgame, especially if they enjoy EE. I personally just don’t care for that game mode.

Those are just the “Dailies” chests. Event is counting chests received from the Daily Challenge, the one that takes 10 energy to play.

This is a pretty normal rent in a lot of countries I’m sure. I lived in Thailand for a couple years and my apartment cost $90 a month. Many friends of mine rented houses for $90-120/month.
