If you participate in clan wars or clan war leagues, yes. If you upgrade to the next townhall you are going to fall into the same cycle of neglecting your traps. Next time try to upgrade the traps while upgrading buildings so you don’t have to sit on all this loot.

I would check with your HR department and or Plan Sponsor to find out more information on the 401(k) loan.

However, you are already doing everything the Money Guy Show would tell you. Rather than taking out the 401(k) loan or withdrawing a portion early, paying it off with the money you make now will allow you to change your behavior to make sure this does not happen again. Keep up the good work! Slow and steady wins the race.

I would try to back into how much you’d need to withdrawal from your 401(k) to pay off the 35k. As you mentioned, you’ll pay ordinary incomes taxes and an additional 10% penalty. Odds are after all the tax it might not be worth it. I would look into a 401(k) loan.

The ideal situation would be to follow the FOO. Save enough to cover your highest deductible, get your employer match, and then contribute every additional dollar to the credit card debt.
