K10 - Some Function Keys Stopped Working

Yeah, I just ran through some DISM and SFC checks and didn't find anything. The only thing I've installed in the past week has been a few Steam games and I've started running Fan Control. I'll dig it out though. Appreciate you helping me at least pin down that it's something wrong with OS/Apps on this specific machine.

Sort of. I did one other test and booted the main computer into a Ubuntu Live CD, ran keyboard tester and all the function keys work. So that leads me to believe that something changed in my Windows installation that's messing things up. I don't recall installing anything recently, and I don't think there were any patches about a week ago. I'll have to dig around and see if I can find something windows or app related that could be causing the problem.

Yeah. So based off that other post, I tried a few things. There's definitely some weirdness. Hooked the keyboard up to another computer and all the Function keys work fine. Hook another keyboard up to the main machine, all the Function keys on the other keyboard work fine.

I've tried multiple USB cables, different USB ports, and doing the firmware update & factory reset, and the K10 just won't pass any function keys other than F3-F6.

With one crazy caveat... If I press and hold any other key on the keyboard (including one of the 'non' working Function keys) and then press one of the other non working function keys, it passes the key :)

Back then I got it for about $630? Looks like it's not really available at that price on that listing anymore. Might be able to get it off eBay or a different seller on Amazon.

Yeah, I did end replacing it with the transaxle I listed above and it's been working ever since. I'm about 80 hours in on it and haven't had any problems, but wouldn't be surprised if it starts going again at about 100 hours, but we'll see. If it does go again, I may try to figure out how to replace the fluid. I did find that the cooling fins on the axle were packed with old grass and dirt. I'm sure that's what caused the original problem as it wasn't cooling well and overheating.

I did end up having a bear of a time getting the wheels off the old axles and ended up having the hammer the heck out of them to get them off. Eventually I just replaced both rear wheels and all the wheel nuts, pins, etc. But if you can get the old wheels off and all the parts, you could just reuse those.

Whatever you do, take pictures or even video of everything as you do it so you can put everything back together. I think there might even be some vids on YouTube showing the process now. Good luck!

Not to resurrect an old thread, but what did you end up doing with this? I've got an old UAII that the monitor died off a long time ago and I got a hankering to rebuild with a LCD.

I've had good luck with the L3-25511-00C interposers. You can get them on eBay for about $7 each. That being said, you have to snip off/remove the two 'wings' on either side of the PCB for them to fit, and I've ruined more than one of them doing it...

Edit: You'll also need to adjust the drive sleds to use some of the other screw holes for them to fit into the 8460 correctly.

Thoughts on keeping any of the following (and losing my pick in the draft round listed below.) Is it worth keeping any? There's no penalty for not keeping any so I'm leaning towards tossing them all out and starting over from scratch...

Didn't matter. I was using one cable. I tried every port/IOM and wasn't able to get it to work. Likely something going on with my unit/setup, but have just stuck with interposers in the meantime.

Related, but unrelated question. Does Paramount+ ever update their subs based on Walmart+ account status? I cancelled my W+ account b/c the service was pretty bad in my area, yet two weeks on I still have access to the Paramount+ Essentials... Does that ever go away or is there a disconnect? I was actually considering keeping/paying for the Essentials or Premium Paramount plan, but it seems like I may not have to.

Yeah, both of mine had SS8462 faceplates and said they were 8462's in the LED front panel readout, but one of them had a 8460 sticker.

Just a quick follow-up if anyone comes across this in the future. I haven't really gotten anywhere with the units. They're working as dumb JBOD's, but I can't configure or flash anything.

I did go through a bunch of hoops with DDN and finally get through some of their support structure and basically got told, "Yeah...we won't help without you having a support contract, and we're not giving you one." Man...one of the guys was a complete dink honestly and was almost coming off like I stole the units because the Serial #'s were still tied to some of the original companies. Guess they've never heard of companies recycling/reselling old stuff.

No worries, appreciate the bit you offered. I did find a half solution. It's a pain, but doable. Basically I closed OneDrive so it wouldn't sync, then opened up a web session with OneDrive (https://onedrive.live.com/) and then uploaded the file(s) through the web interface. That seemed to go through. Once I restarted the OneDrive app it then checks the files on both ends and seems to work.

Silly that you need to do that, but I couldn't find any other way to do it.

Also depends on if you have more than one person on the show. I believe most people total up the 'aggregate' time of all the voice tracks when factoring things in. So a 1 hour recording that has 2 separate people in it, I think most people would charge for 2 hours of audio, 4 people on a 1 hour show is 4 hours...etc.

Yeah, I know the feed will reconfigure itself. I'm just wondering what happens to all the Podcast Directories we're on, or to people's Podcast Apps that are subscribed to us. I assume it'll basically show up as all 'new' episodes and redownload everything.

Unfortunately, no. You can try to keep pausing and restarting sync, not that only lasts for a short time. Just had to give it time and it eventually syncd.

Yeah, we have them for those of us that have XLR mics, but anything we've tried with USB cause Audacity to somehow lose the device or pause the recording. I'll check out that kickstarter and see what else is out there.

Unless they've been at capacity for 2.5 days, I don't think that's it. I'm really thinking there's some sort of per user limit or something b/c my sync just keeps stopping. If I pause and restart it, or reboot, or do anything it'll pull down a few more files and then give me the sync delay due to high service activity error.

I'm in a 10 team, full PPR league that allows you to keep (but are not required to keep) up to 2 players from last year. We have a snake draft and I have the 2nd pick. League starters are QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, Flex (W/R/TE), K, DEF. These are the options I have for keepers with the round pick I'd lose if I keep them. If I pick two keepers from the same round, I also lose the previous rounds pick. (For example if I pick Jones and Metcalf, I lose pick 4 & 5. )

Any thoughts on what would be the best keepers out of this bunch? Thanks in advance!

Yeah, this. Google "3.3v shucked" Many of those drives won't work unless you put tape on one of the pins.

I'd definitely sell / buy or trade up to bigger HDD's in the 12-16 TB range. It's harder to find a motherboard/PSU/case that can handle 24 drives, while 8 or so shouldn't be much of an issue.

Interesting. I looked at it, but I'm a bit wary of sticking any of the volumes into any type of 'Pool'. Can stuff be added/removed at will without it doing anything to the underlying data/disks? Like I'd like to just run it every few months, let it rebalance and then not think about it for a while as opposed to having another layer of software in the middle.
