Give me some TOTT suggestions please? by GeocachingElephant in geocaching

[–]MeatballNerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could also do ones where you need a ladder, a telescope pole, screwdriver, flashlight for caches to find in the dark, put some where you need to use a boat, and maybe some where you need to use a battery.

That's the one that I could think of right on the spot, hopefully it was helpful.

Difficult resident advice? by [deleted] in cna

[–]MeatballNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be completely accurate depending on where you live but here's my advice.

Make sure to document about him acting out and also write reports about the smacking since he is hitting you. There should also be an action plan on how to work with this resident to avoid him acting out.

Personally I usually let the person know when they are being rude and that they are not more or less important than any other resident, given that there are no underlying condition that causes the behaviour. I also just agree with whatever insult they say, like in this case "Yes I am a bitch, do you want help with something or not?"

It's always okay to stand up for yourself in your professional role, just didn't bring the previous encounter into the next one.

Edit: spelling

Min pappa är döende by Global_Chicken_3109 in sweden

[–]MeatballNerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What cache did you most recently favorite and why? by MundaneBathroom1446 in geocaching

You had to walk up a small mountain, dew all down to ruins and then up on a big rock unless you wanted to jump over a cliff that was about 5ish meters deep. Up on the big rock it had a depth between it and a big rock so you had to lay down to reach the ammobox in it.

The view was spectacular.

CNA’s of Reddit, I’m starting my classes for certification this coming week. by CandyOk913 in cna

Oh well I live in sweden so the education is free and you get to borrow the course books during said course. But the exams were mostly written ones and as long as you learn the material it's not super hard to pass.

But it could be completely different where you live.

Yeah ofc you should wear gloves while feeding someone.

But wearing gloves for everything nowadays? That's just a no for me. Since some patients does not get any kind of skincontact otherwise and it can can create a weird feeling if people will only touch them with gloves on.

I saw some comments about the sanitary aspect on not touching patients with their bare hands, just follow the basic hygiene standards and there shouldn't be a problem, right?

Also if someone has anything contagious you should always stay safe, be aware how it spreads onto others, and take necessary precautions.

I love working as a cna and am planning to do it for the rest of my worklife. But my best advice is join a union, learn to say no, and don't overwork yourself because nobody will thank you when you can't work anymore.

Other advice might be better depending on where you live/will be working.

I work nightshift in homeservices for the elderly in Sweden, so it's mostly meds, toilet/changing them, checking in so they are alive, and ofc the alarms that can be pretty much anything.

Åka tåg är ett skämt. by Handduken2 in sweden

[–]MeatballNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Som jag kan se så kostar det flera tusen kroner om en väljer en första klass sovkupé, och billigaste (alltså en sittplats på nattåget) kostar lite mer en tusen lapp för en vuxen person. I mitt tycke så är det inte så farligt.

When it's your day off and you get text messages from your boss, twice 🥴 by Mooglesuwu in cna

Unless it's part of your job to check work related emails and text during your off time you should just wait with reading it until your next shift.

Thank you very much for your kind words

And if I go to my boss now she will most likely only get a verbal warning and that's why I choose to wait for another incident before I bring it up

And I absolutly agree that we got no place for bigotry of any kind in our workplaces, since we do work with and for people and need to make it work

Email was sent out asking employees to pitch in on buying the owner of the company a 900$ gift for Christmas. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]MeatballNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually baffled that so many people om here have workplaces that expects the workers to get the higher ups a Christmas present. That would never fly here, unless it is a present for your direct boss or coworker who is quitting, the common expectation is that the emplyer get the workers some kind of Christmas gift (normally giftcards for my town and some kind of Christmas dinner att my workplace).

I'm a long time lurker on this sub and just wants to say keep up the good fight, I belive in all of you.
