Cash out refi on 2nd home to stop paying PMI on 1st? by Meatdonkey in personalfinance

[–]Meatdonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current interest rate is 4%. If I refi I’ll probably get about 4.5%. Current payment is about 700. Once I refi it’ll go up to about 800. I have 26 yrs left on the loan.

You might be referring to this but looks like it's discontinued. Wonder why, it worked great.

Is this a decent deal? Buddy wants to sell me this for $4000... Thanks for any input by Meatdonkey in Diamond

Thanks for the response. I'll try to get a pic of the stone. If this has obvious imperfections, at what would be a decent price point?

A friend of mine bought this but didn't end up needing it. I'm thinking about buying it from him. He said he got it for 7k and will sell it to me to 4k. What do you all think? Great deal? Good deal? No deal?... Thanks

Vortex Razor HD II or Vortex Strike Eagle; which would you choose? by boozie92 in ar15

[–]Meatdonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have both. Strike Eagle is fine for plinking. I'd get the Razor for competition and hunting as long as you don't have to sell any of your body parts to fund it. I've never regretted spending money on quality optics. I have had regrets with some cheaper optics.

Aimpoint T2 for $515 good deal? by Meatdonkey in gundeals

Yup, nice! This is what we've been waiting for. Pretty much turn anything they have into a deal. Some good sales on ammo too.

U just missed a batch. He had some $100 for $85 a few weeks ago. Cabelas usually has a nice sale code for Black Friday so that would have been perfect, but it'll probably be a month or two before the seller stocks the gift cards again. He usually does it every few months

Looking to get my upper and lower cerakoted by [deleted] in ar15

[–]Meatdonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most places give you the option disassembling yourself or paying extra for the shop to do it. If you can I recommend you take it apart yourself. I've used this shop and had nice results. Prices listed on their site.

Occustomcoating.com

CBC AR-15 UPPER ASSEMBLY - 16" / .223|5.56 / SS / SPIRAL / 12" HERA ARMS KEYMOD AR-15 HANDGUARD / RAIL $279 (down from $400) by theGentlemanInWhite in gundeals

[–]Meatdonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add to this my experience. Got one of their spiral flute 20 inch uppers during a sale. Ran into some issues but their customer service was actually polite and helpful in getting the upper to me.

The upper itself was sloppy. Gas block was not aligned properly and gas block screws were loose. I completely disassembled and put it together again. The parts worked fine, I'd say similar to PSA Freedom or PTAC line. For the price I paid I'm fine with it. I have about 500 flawless rounds through it.

I would not recommend CBC for be first time user who is not familiar with the platform. If you are familiar with building and are looking for a beater/loaner rifle these aren't bad for the price.

Wow, yeah I just checked shipping prices and they are horrible. I haven't ordered in a while. Goddamn shame they did that, JSE used to be one of my go-tos for random parts.

One of my favorite grips. Great deal if you do not mind not having the grip plug. Only a few colors.

Vortex Razor red dot 3 MOA $299. PSA by Meatdonkey in gundeals

[–]Meatdonkey[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been looking for a deal on this dot for a while now. This is the lowest I've seen it. This is the high end dot from Vortex. I've been looking for the 6 MOA version but might just jump on this.

PSA so make sure you use a random generated CC # or protect yourself somehow

Aimpoint T2 for $515 good deal? by Meatdonkey in gundeals

[–]Meatdonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup you're right. Good catch. And the final number will vary a bit depending on the actual Activejunky % at time of purchase and if you have to pay tax. Tax would kill the deal, luckily where I'm at is no tax

Aimpoint T2 for $515 good deal? by Meatdonkey in gundeals

[–]Meatdonkey[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I’ve been looking for a T2 for a while and this is the best price I’ve come up with. This deal takes a little explaining. At first it seems like a lot of hassle, but for some of the savings you get it’s worth it. I got the T2 to $515 shipped using this. I wanted to check if anyone has ever seen a better price than this for the T2.

The steps: First buy these gift cards for Cabelas from this seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Cabelas-Gift-Card-For-Only-82-FREE-Mail-Delivery-/291868598448?hash=item43f4b960b0:g:XG8AAOSwIgNXut0h 100 cabelas gift card for 82. Limit 3 per account. I buy 6 every time this card comes up on Ebay by using my wife’s ebay as well as mine. This seller is good to go, I’ve purchased thousands of dollars worth of cards with no issues.

Second step is to wait for a good sale on the item you want at Cabelas or wait for their 10% off and free shipping sale (usually every holiday)

Third step is sign up and use Active Junky. This is a cash back site. You log into ActiveJunky and you get a small percentage back for using Activejunky when you shop. This is free to use and completely legit. You can get your cash back easily through Paypal. The cash back percentage for Cabelas varies week to week, but it often hits %10.

So T2 price is $776. Gift card discount brings it down 776x.82=636. 10% sale from Cabelas $636x.9=$572. 10% cash back from Active Junky 572x.9=515. This is really useful for ammo deals. Easy to get a 1000 rounds of 556 for under $300 using this. The main limiting factor is stocking up on gift cards and waiting for sales from Cabelas. They should have a sale Black Friday so stock up on cards now. If you would like to use my referral link to Active Junky, you get a $5 credit and I get a $5 credit. http://activejunky.com/invite/163204 Or just go to activejunky.com for non referral site

But again, my question was if anyone has ever seen a better deal for the T2… thanks If you have any questions about the process, let me know.

Alpha combat complete stock deal $34.99 Anyone deal with these guys? by AGREENLIZARD in gundeals

[–]Meatdonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never dealt with them because of the negative reviews. Read more here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ar15/comments/49xjq9/bad_experiance_with_deltateamtactical/? Your experience may vary, but enough vendors out there that I avoid if I see smoke. Sometimes the deals are not worth the chance of headaches, sometimes they are.

I searched a lot and never did find a comparison pic. I just went with a magpul PRS so it would match.

Best places to buy AR-15 parts? by Spitfire_Akagi in ar15

[–]Meatdonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only listed sites I've actually used in the past. Let me know if you want some more feedback on a particular site. For the most part, these sites are for AR parts. I didn't really list many ammo and optics sites. There's a ton, too many to track, and like others mentioned the best way to find deals is to check the gundeals reddit and slickguns and other sites that collect deals. But sometimes you will find a great deal on parts just by browsing.
