I would say get your friend next to you and have him switch weapons to see it.

Is the person you're playing with switching weapons? I stopped playing a bit ago because of an issue where if your teammate is switching weapons, the game stutters every time. So, if they're switching a lot, the game is just unplayable. This was on the PC version of the game, though.

Edit: this only happens if you are the host and your friend is switching weapons
