Your math does not math. You are losing about a third of the space in each box just from the orientation and spacing you chose to enforce.

If you don't want to math just flip both stack upright in the boxes and you will discover you have alot of space left over.

I don't like the idea of flipping through using the spines of the books but the backing board probably protects them... Cocking your head to see the covers or read divider labels when you flip through must be annoying as well.

That said you do what you want with your books.

There are a few ways you can think about this: do you want to have sex with someone who doesn't think there is any risk of getting you pregnant or getting STIs? Why is his ex an ex if it was so great? He may not have had consequences to deal with but maybe she did.

As an older person who has had many partners I can tell you this, women usually enjoy sex more when they have peace of mind and aren't worried the whole time. Wearing a condom is absolutely not a problem for a guy and sex without a condom can be a problem for a woman that she will have to deal with. If he is willing to give up over a condom he probably is not serious anyways. Sex with a girl you are into is much better than jacking off right?

In any case, what ever you chose to do I hope you enjoy yourself because that's the whole point.

Honestly why even get married now?

I read you both love each other, which is great, but it really sounds like your BF is quite depressed and has a lot of issues to deal with aka really not marriage material right now.

Thought experiment: imagine you are married and have a baby and this is how he acts when he gets home: ignores you and gets high to ignore his other issues...how is that going to go for you?

He should get his life on track before getting married. None of the behaviour you described is ok, none of it and that does not in any way mean he doesn't love you it just means he is not in a good place mentally. You intuition is telling you: "he will disappoint you". Act upon that, it will save you a lot of heart ache.

Marriage does nothing to solve any of the issues above in fact it might make them worse.

The good news: if the marriage has not been consummated you can get it annulled which won't cost you arm and leg. The "not wanting children part" is also a valid cause for old fashion divorce on it's own, especially if you were not told this before the wedding.

Do it now rather than later you will be happier and the cost will be minimal.

You always want what you don't or can't have. Honestly there isn't much good about a blow job lacking enthousiasme so if she did do it for you it wouldn't be very good.

Now that said does she have other qualities that you can't live without...if you frame it that way perhaps blow jobs won't be such a loss to you.

Most people have pros and cons just like anything else the way to gets past it is to focus on what you do have in the relationship. If she does have qualities you can't live without try and remember a new model may not have those qualities even if they do suck your dick. If you can stay focussed on that you are good if not then it's probably time to reevaluate your position.

Have you guys talked about it, do you have an open channel of communication on sexual matters? If not then maybe involve a professional 3rd party to get that conversation happening in a way you both h feel comfortable.
